While I agree it is definitely faster.... 2 tenths faster 0-60.... I do question the location of the batteries. I think it's pretty clear they take up the foot well space that the third row seats are supposed to fold into, however, my question is does that mean the batteries actually go into...
I've had 3 three row vehicles while my kids were growing up... 2000 LX470, 2003 Honda Pilot, 2010 Honda Pilot that we still have. The folding options on the LX470 were so poor that I just ended up removing the 3rd row and storing the seats in the attic and never used them. The Honda's with...
Well these are the closest I've seen to a complete view of the interior of the frunk. Still missing a complete view of the drivers side... What I still don't see are any power ports and an emergency release button/cable. I realize these are older prototypes/versions of the vehicles but I am...
Quoted from the Article above -
"The truck will also be the first to roll off Rivian's Normal, Illinois, assembly line, with the serial No. 1.
The R1T will not be fitted with additional features or special equipment, according to Brian Gase, chief engineer of special projects at Rivian. Even...
Rebelle Rally - in the National News... and the article even includes a section covering the Rivian... This is the first time I have seen the Rivian discussed on a National News site...
That's what I said... "There has been a years worth of improvements". I personally think a lot can and did change in the development cycle of the truck in 1 year.
Very much doubt it.... the Long Way Up was filmed September 2019... So there have been a years worth of improvements to the Trucks since then..... I think the ones in Long Way Up are truly as pre-production as it can get.... I would expect the trucks now are much closer to factory production.
Latest Long Way Up episode is up and it includes a nice but brief section covering the Rivian's. Talked a little about the challenges of charging and coming up with creative charging techniques... including tow charging. They seem to like the trucks overall. pretty cool...
I'm watching the first episode now and they definitely include 5 plus minutes of the Rivian build out and their involvement in the charging infrastructure. Of course to create drama they "worry" about Rivian finishing the trucks and charging network in time..... A lot of building up the "I...
I say dream big and I like your plan..... I'm sure there are a ton of technical details to be ironed out and I don't want to squash your ideas.... it's ideas like this that eventually lead to awesome break thoughs in design and implementation.
My only thought is that you will need to account...
Sorry That info has not been made public that I can find.... They compare it to a RangeRover so those dimensions will get you close but exact measurements have not been published.
This was discussed in a video they did with Fully Charged where they discussed they were working on integrating the receiver into the truck and none of their show vehicles had it yet. This doesn't mean it won't be an option that costs extra.... It very well might be an add on. I just don't...
Very doubtful... with most kids having iPads/Tablets these days I think rear screens are considered a bit redundant.... Specifically, the Rivian's "had" a USB port in the headrests with a hook for hanging a tablet behind each of the front seats for this exact purpose.... however, notice I quoted...
Gotcha.... I don't pretend to know all the parts that make up an assembly line but Rivian said in their last video (I think) that a lot more would be delivered this Fall. I am guessing that they have just enough in place for a low volume run through as they finalize the details what is needed...
While I agree with you 100%... We know that everything forward of the B pillar is identical to the R1T.... What we really want to know is... how exactly is the R1S configured behind the B Pillar... Right? Quite frankly I think they are still working out those details or they would be showing it...
My wife's Forester does that as well but I am hoping for an off option... Granted it's not a show stopper... just a nice to have. Her old Honda Pilot had a simple button to turn off the screen... in fact it let you manually choose between daytime, nighttime, and off.... Granted the only...
I am curious if you can dim or turn off the center screen while driving? I realize on the model 3 and Y this is probably impractical due to it being the only display.... I am hoping Rivian provides a way to turn off the middle screen at least at night.... (since there is a drivers display for...
I guess you really can't please everyone... the problem with a longer truck is that it affects off road ability. If you extend the wheelbase you affect break-over angle, if you just extend the bed you affect departure angle.
Rivian has said a solid roof would be an option... but my guess is aluminum since that's what the body is made of.... We've also seen a few pictures of vehicle builds in progress with solid roofs however, it wasn't clear if those were just mules....
