Yes - but unfortunately it's not that simple since smaller wheels almost certainly won't clear the brake calipers.... So the quickest best improvement is better off road tires on the same equipped wheel (I think the smallest is 20") at this point...
I don't think the difference in weight will be a huge factor... I did some basic math with these 2 assumptions... 21700 cell weighs 70 Grams and has 17.3 wh capacity (this was done with a very quick google search) so the weight and capacity could vary a little. This does not take the extra...
Yes I did... and I got the message... No Participating Dealers in your area. I was hoping to check several sources before deciding on a target price but it didn't work out with Costco this time. We came in about $500 below Edmunds recommended price and also got the window tint and spray in...
In Texas you only pay the difference in Tax if you paid tax in the purchase state... Illinois has the exact same tax rate as Texas on new vehicles... so assuming Illinois insists on collecting sales Tax because you took delivery in their state then you would notate that tax paid on form Form...
Update - Dad has a truck.... errr will have a truck tomorrow.... but he signed all the paperwork an hour ago and will pick it up after the detail shop cleans it in the morning....
Here's another example of the downright shady things dealerships/sales people do.....
What a mess this was - I...
I was kind of expecting to take delivery in Normal.... Since I live in Texas and until recently Texas was extremely unfriendly to the EV market... And really still is as far as deliverys go... Now that Tesla is setting up shop here I'm not sure if/when Texas will change the dealer rules...
Pirelli doesn't make it easy to find on their website (Since Rivian isn't a listed manufacture yet) and on Discount Tires website if you choose the Verde on a 22" rim it only offers the tire I mentioned...
Thanks for the update..
I just went back and looked... my LX470 were indeed M/S rated and I liked them a lot.... Also did a bit of research and came up with the following. The Pirelli Verde 22" Tire only comes in one size "currently" - Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S 285/45R22 - At this point I am assuming this is in fact...
My bad.... From the pictures @ja_kub_sz posted it's clear the All Season tires are on the 22s... I misread thinking the other 2 were 19"s and 20"s..... The top one is clearly a 20 I assumed the third picture was a 19".... but looking closer it just a different style 20..
I do like the 22" wheel the best also... but there's just not enough sidewall on that All Season tire. It makes the R1S look like a Mall Crawler... I doubt they will offer an All Terrain Tire on the 22 due to wheel well clearances... It would have to be bigger to not look a little silly with...
I like the white and green... I really like the blue on the R1T but don't think it will look as good on the R1S.... My LX470 was white.. or Golden Pearl as it was called... my wife doesn't want me to do white again.... So the Green R1S is probably in my future.... So Austinites... adjust...
So curious about all the tire options and how each will affect range. I really prefer the look of All Terrain tires but guessing the Low Rolling Resistance All Seasons will allow for more range... Also, wonder if all their tire/wheel combinations give basically the exact same rolling...
well ok then... so it wasn't on the lot... apparently it is still in inventory but is currently being used as a loaner vehicle and is loaned out... no real interest in buying any car as new that's already got several thousand miles on it... and no other trucks with the max tow package on the...
It's the exact truck they want to buy... on the lot.. meaning the dealership should want to move it.... on my way out the door... will let y'all know how it goes...
Sorry guys - I've chosen our little Rivian group to vent a little.
My parents called me out of the blue yesterday because they were driving down to my side of town to look at a Ford Truck (they could never talk themselves into a Rivian even though I believe they could afford it. It was a...
I'm not rich...but I'm going to "feel" rich after raising two teenage daughters... who also think I'm rich..... FYI - my last new car for myself was that 2000 LX470 in my profile picture that I bought before they were born.... so yeah I remember what it felt like to have a little bit of money....
I wondering if they might time it to be released with the premiere of "Long Way Up" on September 18th? That might create a lot of good press..... but maybe it's also just wishful thinking....
