As far as I know nothing official has been announced. The ideas "floating" around are maybe a partnership with Cox or Ford for service centers or they may role out a service where they come to you. It's a big question that will have to answered before the cars start rolling off the assembly line.
I think the most recent kind of official statement was sometime "summer 2020". I imagine the shutdown does not need to make this date slip, however, I wonder if Rivian will delay the launch of the configuration tool purely due to the fact that the delivery date is definitely slipping into...
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the continued discussion... As a person completely new to BEV's I am learning a bunch about what to look for and how to understand the different aspects to consider when talking about vehicle range and charge rates..... When doing long distance...
For what it's worth... Route 66 goes through Normal, IL. I am probably just going to make my way back to Austin but I will certainly drive some of Route 66 instead of the interstates working my way back home. Being that I'm late to the party I figure I have plenty of time to figure out a...
Nice article... I especially like the part where they discuss workers returning to the plant on Monday! It's a small step towards re-opening... but I also want them all to stay safe... don't rush it... but am looking forward to the build out resuming safely!
I realize I'm late to the game.... but I finally put in an order today. I've spent the last 3 weeks reading as much as I could and I know they are now a bit behind schedule. Truth is I will be happy if I get the SUV around the end of 2021 or even early to mid 2022... Now I just need to hope...
I guess it really just depends on what people are going to do with the vehicle. So I am R1S all the way..... however, I have always been an SUV type. I absolutely loved my LX470 but the gas mileage was abysmal. While the R1T has some super cool features there is one feature I am, hoping for...
First - I realize that the battery pack is one of the most expensive parts of the car (if not the single most expensive part/group of parts).
Things "I think" we already know:
Rivian does not intend to support upgrades from smaller battery packs to larger battery pack.
The battery packs are...
Most of your logic makes sense to me, however, I'm afraid that deliveries are going to slip further than you have assumed. Granted I have only been following Rivian for a few weeks, it sure seems like they are going to slip well into Q2 or maybe even Q3 of 2021 for initial deliveries. My...
Thanks - This all makes sense to me. I did notice the relatively high price for on the road charging. It's another reason I was thinking of chargers basically everywhere. Hoping for a little saturation at some point where the price for non Tesla owners comes down to a more reasonable level. I...
Thanks for your thoughts on this guys... I had pop out cup holders similar to this for the rear seat passengers on my LX470 and I didn't like them at all. Mainly because they weren't deep enough to hold a 20oz bottle upright for any length of time. Of course I will withhold judgement on these...
So I have been scouring the internet looking for decent pictures of the interior. I finally came across this one that shows the pop out cupholders for the front passengers. I have to assume (at this point) that this is a real picture and not a mock up. I would much prefer a fixed position cup...
