One more question to @EV Sportline - does this unit have a dashcam in the back? I don't think I saw that in the video - I notice similar (or the same manufacturer Lamtto?) having a unit that looks the same but has a dashcam in the back....I know there is gearguard so maybe it doesn't help but...

OK - is that the same if I dial out or accept a call using the carplay? So if I use the phone app on carplay and dial out or accept a call, will it still connect through the rivian audio? If so that is great!! I am used to using carplay/AA on rentals where the unit is factory and therefore...

When using carplay or AA, it just uses the device's internet connection...I don't think there will be a built in wifi chip on the screen that would allow you to connect and manage a seperate internet connection (i.e. rivian hotspot)

hallelujah!!! This definitely pushes me towards following through with my R1s preorder purchase....although still hoping AA/CP will come like this giving users more choice....

I'm on the same fence with a delivery date of apr-jun 24 and hoping some of these issues get addressed by then...adding android auto/carplay support seems like an easy one and that is an important feature for me...almost up there as a showstopper from purchasing a R1S.

Got the delivery window update in April... previously it was Jan-june 2024 and now updated to Apr-Jun 2024...I am in Durham east end of Toronto. Could be config related and maybe they are doing one month at a time so dec 2021 orders may get updated next go around which I think is around end of...

I did mine Nov 2021 so almost 2 years after you and I have a Apr-June 2024 so I sure hope you get yours this year so they can stay on track to deliver mine next year :)

When did you reserve yours? I thought no Ontario deliveries till next year but will be great if they start this year.
