I second this.. my range changes dramatically with only a few mph difference. I would say try to keep it around 60mph and don't try to pass lots of people. The slower you go, the more range you will get!! I think about 62 mph is a good speed for me when I don't need to be there 10 minutes...
Sorry for the slow reply. The shipper unplugged both 12V batteries and the HV battery harness (3 connections total). Rivian did NOT recommend disconnecting batteries, they were adamant that I should plug it in if it was being stored. I told them plugging in was not an option, and they still said...
Sorry you went through that hell... I can imagine how you felt. I shipped to Germany but I had them unplug all the batteries first. Thanks for explaining how to revive it! When do you get to drive it? Are you registering it in the EU or with US military?
Is anything going to come of it by posting in this thread? Besides blowing off steam? Nevertheless:
Pin To Drive!! So I can stop turning off bluetooth and learn to love the bomb
Fix Vampire Drain
Scheduled preconditioning/climate
Better, detailed efficiency graphs like Tesla
Easier download of...
Yes it does pick up all the local FM stations, I'm guessing HD? And you could probably stream your device through bluetooth anyway if you could get Spotify on your phone here. I don't listen to music any more so I can't help much... :)
There's a reason pretty much nobody else is shipping them around the world. If it becomes a brick, at least it will be a pretty one. And, it won't rack up miles!! Trying to focus on the good side...
I used West Coast shipping, can't say enough good about them, they are awesome. Used 20' container, it was more expensive because I wanted my own container to speed up the process. I wouldn't risk RORO. I won't mention cost but WC is competitive. There is a $500 hazmat fee these days on top of...
No NAV or Cell connection, only hotspot from my phone. No US/satellite radio (I've never used Spotify, I moved overseas before Spotify was a thing so I have never used it..EVER, and I have also never watched Titanic).
There is a tow manual for Rivian that documents the disconnect procedure...
Sounds like a road trip is in order. I will investigate! Could you post a screenshot of the app where it shows that it's open to all? I have the Tesla app but I never saw anywhere to charge another vehicle.
Edit: you appear to be correct, I see it on the Tesla website!!! Too cool!
For better or worse, I don't believe Tesla has opened any yet. I may not have all the available information but I heard it was supposed to happen s00n?
Actually I was really worried about that so I had the shipper disconnect the 12V and HV batteries (lesser of two evils--disconnect/reconnect failure vs vampire drain). It was disconnected with around 60% charge, and had around 57% when reconnected. It was disconnected from 12 Jan to 2 Feb.
Bought it online, had it delivered to an agent in the US, who shipped it out for me. I live and work in Germany as a US contractor under SOFA status. Did the same thing with a Tesla, didn't see it in person until it arrived here.
Edit: I reserved in Nov. 2021, delivery was 12/22/22
There is *one* adapter that I am aware of. Protocol seems to be the same (I researched this beforehand). I have charged a few times now without any issue. The short adapter cable got warm but not hot. It is labeled as 2x 1AWG wires and a couple other smaller wires for comms/etc. The adapter...
Ah yes... silly me. Unfortunately it kinda hits a wall at ~111 MPH, and I got the All-Terrains, so no Ring for me... but I will drive it over the Alps and post pics...
