  1. Insight on wristband key availability / production

Which watch band do you use? I have an Ultra but folks loose Apple Watches so frequently in the ocean in Hawaii it kinda a running joke. Every lifeguard stand on the island has a daisy chain of lost/found Apple Watches that flew off in the surf. I’m hoping to utilize the Rivian band In the...
  2. TPMS too late!

Commenting to bump this. We want those little batteries to last as long as possible. I change mine only every time I buy tires….so for the Riv I guess it will be every 20-30k?! ?
  3. Is anyone else as pissed off/frustrated at having to pay for the reinforced underbody just because I need the 20” wheels?

I see your point. However, one could wear a bullet proof vest all day, everyday, by the same logic. I think the choice depends on location and opperations.
  4. Manually moving the AC vent

Let’s create as many unnecessary fail points as possible to out Tech the competition. Should have gone with voice control only for everything, including door opening. I want to use my arms and hands as little as possible after free-solo climbing El Capitan in my Rivian branded urban outdoor...
  5. Drone mode?

Yep. These kind of Gee-whiz tech features are a complete waste of time and resources. I day dream of a stripped down R1T that is just a solid built truck. I wouldn’t even expect to pay less.
  6. Is anyone else as pissed off/frustrated at having to pay for the reinforced underbody just because I need the 20” wheels?

I have an older reservation and was able to drop the underbody and keep the 20” A/T’s. I’m looking to lighten up the truck for sand driving. I also have rust to worry about. Not rock crawling and the standard underbody has satisfactory protection for the battery. The stock truck is road...
  7. Fisker Alaska EV Pickup Revealed. R1T Competition?

Has all the appeal of a Hyundai Santa Cruz. Cowboy hat holder gimmick, like this thing is towing a horse hauler. Fisker Alaska is exactly what I’d expect a car designer who has never owned/operated a truck to design.
  8. Riptide

    Kamaaina Rivian Ohana

    Game on! ??
  9. Road Trip: Boulder to Steamboat, and Beyond (as Gear Support Vehicle)

This is good to see and hear. Outstanding adventure gear load-out. Your Rivian is not just for show. This is the way.
  10. More 12V Problems - Always Keep Your R1T Plugged

Or….dare I go camping for a week in my vehicle built for exploring and outdoor adventure. Hard questions need to be asked, (and I say this looking directly in the mirror) is Rivian just a fancy Northface/Patagonia sweater for the wealthy to LOOK outdoorsy? Simply a greenwashed Range Rover?
  11. Warning: Do not close your frunk by hand!

Additionally, I expect all of my adventure/outdoor gear to be above average build quality and durability. This dents easily issue around the Frunk and Gear Tunnel are disappointing. At least reinforce these high use areas.
  12. ATL_R1S Midnight Black Build

Tastefully done all around. The wheels look great. Just downgraded my preorder from the 20” Darks to the Brights with a simple mod like this in mind.
  13. Confirmed: Newer production R1 only have a single 12v battery, but...

Nothing like having to to buy a 3rd battery booster pack to jump the unreliable 12v than somehow can’t keep a charge off of the ENORMOUS F*CKING BATTERY in the vehicle. I’m confidant Riv will work these little battery drain gremlins out. But the irony on this one got me. The app should be...
  14. Confirmed: Newer production R1 only have a single 12v battery, but...

I agree. It is absurd that their software can’t seem to manage this. My simple Nissan will turn off the dome lights, if left on over night, to save the battery. Good luck confidently “Adventuring” further than 50 miles from a service center fellow Rivian owners. We gotta figure this one out.
  15. Riptide

    Kamaaina Rivian Ohana

July 2019 Reservation…..most recent delivery date was JUL-DEC 2024, but this week changed to “processing estimate” after an email requesting updated delivery address.
  16. Washington DC duped into EV "Fuel Shark" scam - device extends the range of any EV by 60% by 'rejuvenating the battery'

I’d say mr inventor is related to the government official that approved this deal. This is DC at its finest. FoooooF
