That's the opposite of how anything else I have with electrochromatic glass works ?
It certainly makes sense for this application, as it does for privacy glass. Would be nice to have an official confirmation from Rivian, considering the SCs are offering conflicting information.
Where did you get the information that it's using power when clear and the "off" state is opaque? I posed that question during pickup but the SC told me the opposite.
I have a Model X loaner right now, and I must +1 Rade's experience with it. I trust my R1T driving itself far more than the X. The X loves to drift all over the lane, particularly when the lane opens up to a fork or ramp. I've had no such issue in the R1T.
Taking control from the X when it's...
I've been driving a Tesla Model X from Enterprise for the past week. I like the games. The infotainment is ridiculously responsive. I've thoroughly enjoyed the "emissions" mode. The Supercharger experience is superior. But I'm glad I went with an R1T. The X feels very cheap.
The Costco in Irvine, CA refused work on my Audi Q5 last year because they "don't really know how to work on them" and "wouldn't want to mess it up".
I certainly wouldn't trust them with my R1T.
The Gen 2 R1T I test drove a few months ago also had an incredibly loud heat pump. It almost turned me off from ordering. It sounded exactly like OP's.
My Gen 2 R1T's heat pump is so quiet I don't notice it at all. I don't think the loud ones are normal.
Per the 2025 software road map, they're working on one. I'm really hoping they are able to get a better voice, too. Something uniquely "Rivian". ElevenLabs, OpenAI, many others have some great TTS engines they could license.
So I experienced this bug today. I don't believe I did anything to trigger it. I was on pavement about to go off road and when I switched from TIDAL to the Drivetrain screen to enable All-Terrain mode, I noticed it disappeared. Instead I had Conserve and Sport modes. Remembering this thread, I...
Bleh, I activated the trial today. It sounds like it's running at 64-96 Kbps depending on the channel. Only marginally better than how satellite sounds. Absolutely no comparison to the other streaming options available (or Bluetooth from other services IMHO).
Anyone who likes SiriusXM, I'm glad...
TIDAL has some atmos test tracks. I can hear it trying to accomplish this, but the sound stage is too narrow and needs to be expanded. Some of the speaker levels also seem to be too low, particularly the surround speakers.
It otherwise sounds great and I'm hopeful for more enhancements in...
I find the sound stage to be very narrow. With the fader centered, it sounds like the center channel is far louder than the rest. If I put my head in the center of the car, it sounds better. This is with all tracks, not just atmos.
I've had no issues with the R1T connecting to an SSID with both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. I do have a 2.4 GHz-only SSID for IoT devices that don't support 5 GHz. I generally only need to use that for LEDs and Chinese-designed junk.
Although, I keep Wi-Fi in the R1T disabled because I park too far...
The Audi Q5 I replaced with my R1T supported Bluetooth headphones. I tried it once while watching a movie on the MMI (I was taking a break from driving, the gf was sleeping). That's the only time I ever had a use for the feature.
I recall my old Mazda 3 also supporting Bluetooth headsets, but...
This exact same thing happened to me. It appears they've since added a few new line items to the T&Cs. It's not the end of the world, but it does leave a sour taste when you're told you'll get something and they have to backtrack on it.
