  1. Tucson, AZ to Playa Palomas, Sonora, Mexico

Last year I did a trip to see what it would be like heading into Mexico with limited charging infrastructure. It’s not a big distance, but I chose the safest/highest SOC route, to get to Playa Encanto. There’s an L2 charger at the resort there, so it was the safest bet. The route I took: -...
  2. RJ, Rivian Service is Broken

OP - this post is primarily why I'm considering going back to ICE. I have been a faithful R1T'er since Aug 2022 when I had my T delivered. I love the truck and have caked on nearly 40k miles in these two years. But the service for menial issues, which can take 5 WEEKS to schedule for something...
  3. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Well I just got my truck back after making stink to Rivian about safety concerns of driving it anymore, since they were able to get it in and fix it. Replaced the wheel hub assembly/bearing, as well as a few other things (front drive unit seal, new rear damper seals which were leaking). Back to...
  4. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Front drive unit seal, front left wheel hub assembly, and some random FSAM. Picking up in a few hours, although was kind of hoping to keep the S a few more days
  5. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

    Lockers… on your Rivian? ? Can’t tell if that’s a troll or not ?
  6. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Dropped off the truck this morning and got a loaner R1S! Here are tire items they’re reviewing (last one is an FSAM to replace seals on the mobile charging cable). Did a quick drive with the shop foreman and he was surprised by the incredibly loud noise from the wheel. Told the advisor upon...
  7. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Read my original post for context. My R1T is nothing but an expensive paperweight at the moment and I’m just riding the motos around until my appointment time in 3.5 weeks to replace something that should take little time. But in general I totally agree with you on why you got your R1. I love...
  8. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Ahhhh yeah I do miss the 36 gal. tank in my 19 Raptor. A new Raptor probably rides way better than the gen2 I had due to coils instead of leaf springs. I’ll probably go check out a Ranger Raptor this weekend just to see what it’s like and pricing. The F150 was just always too big for me. Maybe...
  9. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Ahh yes, good clarification. If my company ever actually went public, I'd hop into a 2020 M550i as my fun ICE vehicle that can act as a secondary while the R1T sits idle for the next 3.5 weeks for service.
  10. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Fair point! I'm not an EV-for-life type myself, although the benefits of basic driving/experience do generally outweigh ICE vehicles. That said, I'd never trade my 1098S for an EV motorcycle ?
  11. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

Ahh yeah, PaaK has been a solid advent in the auto industry. Having a key in my pocket for keyless entry isn't a deal killer for me, but being able to manage climate controls and other vehicle features from my phone is one of those things you miss when you don't have it (like rain-sensing...
  12. Would you Cross Shop a Ford Ranger Raptor with an R1T?

I've been contemplating a future fun truck, now that wait times for service are incredibly long here in Arizona (scheduled a wheel bearing inspection/replacement for 5 WEEKS from now... making my R1T a 7,500lb brick in the garage). Looking around there are few trucks I'd consider for truck-like...
  13. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

@electruck @MountainPassPerformance changed the file size to a size available for the forum:
  14. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Awesome. I gave that a try last night and was able to hear some noise that I’m fairly certain is attributed to wheel bearing noises, but the wheel wasn’t loose on the hub/bearing assembly (yet). I’ll upload a video to YouTube (file size too large).
  15. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Is the spare wheel an actual wheel? I can see it’s a full size spare, and planning to rotate that in now actually (bought a 3rd tire to get 4 new tires altogether) but never actually pulled the spare from the bed. It feels like a real wheel ?
  16. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Front tires replaced… noise persists. Definitely pointing towards a wheel bearing now, just $900 poorer ??. At least I have fresh rubber?
  17. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Great to know. Seems like the most likely culprit at this point then. No play on the wheel, just “bowling balls on concrete” type noise, or like bad mud tires ?. I’m hopeful this will resolve… that said, displeased with how they got this way. Can’t wait for non-Pirelli AT options that are also...
  18. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Update: I went one more time to check the balance at Discount Tire to see if there's additional balancing they can accomplish for the front left tire as that may just be the culprit. Apparently the front left had some good cupping, which is unfortunate they didn't inform me of until today. I...
  19. Possible Front-Left Wheel Bearing Issue

Gotcha, that’s pretty spot on for rust I’m hearing. Although these have more complex hub assemblies with motors, so I suppose it could be symptomatic of something else… I’m driving to Phoenix and back today so I’ll update if there’s a catastrophic failure ?
  20. [Factory PPF damaged] Rivian painted our vehicles with crayons

Ahh gotcha. Not sure where that came from. Maybe someone drew on it with an actual crayon ?. But really, if I were to guess, someone may have knicked the truck and caused that while I wasn't around it. Back then the Gear Bear thing only recorded events like that when it wanted to lol
