I guess it's possible. Between here, Rivian owners and Reddit -- there are probably 50 to 100 owners complaining about it just after the update.
When you're driving at 75 mph and you toggle between all-purpose and snow mode with some throttle applied, there's no perceptible thump during...
Canadians have a reason to hate Trump. I'd say about half of his voters are equally repugnant, but this position of his on Canadian tariffs isn't shared by many.... even Trump voters. Many Trump voters do hate Mexico and it's people..... which is gross in itself, but Canada isn't on their radar.
Wait....what? I scrolled past this the first time. The tow rating on the EREV version is 5k? That completely negates a major advantage an EREV could bring to the table.
It does feel like an ice at times with it. Actually, it would still be the smoothest ICE ever -- but we know what the Rivian is capable of and there's no reason why it couldn't get back to that.
270 wh/kg battery density just won't cut it for towing with most people. Solid state seems to start at 500 wh/kg and they have early R&D versions up to 750 wh/kg.
Imagine 10 to 15 years from now having a 1200 mile range with a Rivian with the same weight. At that point I'd rather have a 600...
Without home charging I tell people not to consider an EV in 2025.
If we had access to Zeekr X7s in the US with 500 kw charging for 450 miles at 10 minutes, I would say to go for it.
We don't have it here yet...
Yet.
It's pretty solid.
I know my battery is 131 kWh, so I look at every percent as a 1.31 multiple of the current draw rate. The trailer I used was steady at 1.20 miles/kWh. We had a situation where it wanted me to charge earlier than necessary, but it was clear that it was just being conservative...
It's ideal to pull into a charger as low as possible. I maintained a 197 kw charge rate for 10 minutes this past Sunday. My tactic is to identify a charger that's at a questionable range, drive slower than I normally would until I see the arrival range creep up and then I increase speeds slowly.
