  1. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

I guess. I actually like stopping to charge on trips. If it was a work related trip I'd think differently, but I don't use my truck for work. Of course I have a meteorology background and can see the impacts of climate change. It would be a tad hypocritical of me to concern myself with a few 30...
  2. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

Oh, I understand how important that is for people that tow often. Life is short, do what you have to do. For my own use case, I'll wait for solid state. I also have snowmobile buddies who have diesels for those few times I want to get to my destination quicker. I don't mind the charging and I...
  3. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

In 52 weeks of a year, this might happen 3 of them. The vast majority of the time I charge at home and never use fast chargers.
  4. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

Just got done towing a 4000 lb trailer 750 miles. 150 miles to a full charge.... obviously I wasn't letting it hit 100%, but it still wasn't that bad.
  5. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

In some ways I understand that the average IQ of a truck owner is lower than your typical EV enthusiast. Let's be real about that. A high percentage think climate change is a hoax and the moon landing might have been staged. If this gives them an on-ramp to EVs, fine. The price tag alone will...
  6. Ram CEO Says Ramcharger Is 'The Goldilocks Truck'

Nobody will charge it. It's just gonna give gasoholics a smoother drive with the same environmental impact.

    Portland Rivian Club

    I might be game.
  8. Scout Motors on trucks and SUVs: "you can't get into this segment as a poser"

The Scout will not be as nimble. Probably more bouncy and tippy around corners. Put a Scout BEV against a Dual Motor Performance Rivian on a track and the Rivian will probably eat it alive. The Scout will have a better charging curve and that alone makes it better for towing. Add in the gas...
  9. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

Keep in mind, off-road travel is very energy efficient, so you won't need as much as you think.
  10. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

The research has always been in SK and China. The US battery industry has never really factored into any of this.
  11. Scout Motors on trucks and SUVs: "you can't get into this segment as a poser"

The best part is the 800V. That makes the BEV version more attractive. It's a Rivian Dual Motor Performance but with 800V architecture.
  12. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

The dealership battle could delay it. The American dealership model is suppressing EV adoption, so getting this handled could be great for the country. Most of my local dealers won't stock EVs.
  13. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

Head over to the Scout version of this website. The BEV version is 350 miles with a 3.5 0-60. The EREV is 500 miles with 150 electric range and a 4.7 sec 0-60 from what most inside voices are saying. Maybe accurate, maybe not.
  14. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

I guess it depends on what the ratio of towing is to daily driving. You can rent just about anything on Turo for that 3 weekend per year use that most people prepare for.
  15. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

The EREV versions are all nerfed BEVs. The Scout Harvester is going to be substantially weaker with the ER generator. I doubt many people even plug them in. Without plugging it in, you're looking at another 18 mpg truck.
  16. Any info on gas/extended range in the future??

We're a solid state battery away from never needing the range extender anyhow. If you can't swing it with the R1T, maybe try the Scout.... but even the Scout will probably discontinue the range extender with solid state. We're using NCM batteries with 270 wh/kg battery density right now. Solid...
  17. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

I'm starting to ignore the suspension. It's winter and quieter....but I'm just coming to terms with the telescopic half-shafts being what they are. The ability to change my suspension height is just unbeatable. Yea, I could swap this for a Silverado EV and it would be quiet....but boring...
