I did use the new amp with the stock sub. The volume output was way lower but some of this could be due to coil impedance difference and also stiffness of the higher power sub. It requires more power for the same output but can also handle way more power.
Honestly I don't think that solution...
Removing the rear panel isn't too bad, I used a plastic pry tool and didn't have any issues. I'll try to get a few pictures of the stock sub.
I did try connecting the amp to the stock sub but it starting distorting at relatively low sound output.
My wife loves bass. She has wanted an upgrade in every vehicle she's had.
The R1S is actually awesome for upgrading. The sub in the side is a standard size 10" sub and the box is quite large.
I had an Alpine sub already that fit perfect...
As long as the wiring gauge is appropriate, there is no reason aluminum wouldn't work. Yes it has higher resistance but a larger gauge wire compensates for that. That said I don't know about code issues.
So the "carabiner" is pretty terrible, a slight pull and it unlock and falls off anything you loop it around. When I first got my truck I was running around with my kids in a field and realized the fob was gone. Luckily found it in the grass. Now that proximity unlock is a thing and my fold4...
I just started having this issue with mine. Filed a ticket, will see what happens. Mine hasn't melted yet though, switched to mobile charger as I don't need a fire in the garage.
