Have taken this turn out of my driveway for 10 years with a Tundra, Tacoma, Xterra, WRX STI and am used to it. The Rivian, even with feathering the throttle just kept sliding. The tree was the only thing stopping it from going over the edge. Unfortunately now my hood has a nice dent in it. Had a...
That and the side pieces have such a terrible design. These tiny plastic tabs that are part of the main plastic. Why didn't they use standard Christmas tree clips? Min was delivered with tabs broke. Because they are so fragile. The rear cap is also several hundred dollars :(
Yes, this morning. Yes I'm on steep hills. Full off accelerator caused wheel slip. That's why you let off a little to the limits of the tires, no different than gently braking in a normal car.
I have a LE R1T with the cover, I have an order for the max pack as well but I really want the auto cover, I use it all the time and a manual one would be real step back. Odd they removed it from my config.
Your foot controls the level of regen, just don't use as much and you'll be fine. This truck tires so much confidence on dry roads I think people have unrealistic traction expectations
I have an early LE and over 7500 miles on it. It's been fantastic. If I did it again I would make the same choice. Yes it's had some issues but so have most rivians.
Was checking the value of my Toyota tundra TRD pro online and it auto sent the info to my local dealer. We had a good laugh how professionalism went out the window when I told him the new truck :)
When my 12v batteries died (hv pack still charged) the truck wouldn't do anything. The tech said he had to do an on-site system check after replacing the 12v. He said it could not be done remotely. This makes me worry that I can't replace my own 12v batteries either without bricking.
Those with noise that required drive unit replacement, what did it sound like? I have a clicking that I can detect between 15-30mph with moderate throttle, both on accel and decel. It clicks in frequency with vehicle/motor speed. Can only hear when windows are up due to other noises.
Yes sometimes, it depends WHERE is is rubbing. If rubbing on the medial guard then moving the wheel out CAN (not will) help the rubbing. If rubbing on the lateral side then moving the wheel out will likely make the rub worse.
Offset can make a difference. Sometimes offset can correct these issues. That said, I've seen rubbing on the top of the fender liner, where offset would make almost no difference.
