Wealthy folks are considering Rivians to be the latest "me-too" cars. "Oh you have a Rivian? Me too!"
Seriously, going from a lighter weight unibody car/cross over to a full frame 'truck' to the uninitiated, will be slightly jarring. You are carrying a sh!t ton of weight.
Me going from a 3/4...
Oh man, those are rough requirements. Esp for a super heavy brick shaped beauty like the Rivian R1*.
It just started getting really chilly around me in CT, and sure enough, my R1T dual/large pack efficiency has dropped like a rock. I'm seeing under 2kwh for my rides into work. Esp with battery...
That is fabulous! 100,000 miles on a R1T is so impressive in such a short period of time. I wish these stories made it out to all the anti EV Luddites out there spreading nonsense.
For me, in Dec 2025 will be 2 years and I'm sitting at 12,030 miles.
My commute to work is 8 miles 3x a week.
Who the actual f is going on in this thread? Random accounts from non-owners who are doom and gloom.
I believe in the company. The current products are luxury for ppl who can afford it. The future products will be for a lot more folks who enjoy a unique and capable vehicle whether its an EV or...
holy moly that was a bad accident. Just speculating, maybe a medical emergency was the cause? Reason for the guess.....the Rivian got deep inside that store.
If there a fuel (gasoline) shock due to internal or external circumstances where gas either reaches those 2007 level prices, I full expect ppl to move more to EVs.
My R1T is so much more cost effective over my wife's sedan since her car takes super unleaded.
I pay .20 per KwH at my office. So...
Sounds like your patience has run out and can no longer own your Rivian without a bad taste in your mouth. Like Zoidz says, you should sell it and get something you'd enjoy more.
Not to be funny, but I hear the cybertruck is being heavily discounted :)
This coming holiday season will be 2 years of ownership of my dual motor, large pack R1T. The overall ownership experience is positive. I struggled for a year with a problematic driver assistance features. It took the SC a few attempts to finally resolve the issues.
The truck is our go-to...
I'd really hope the seat height is as low as the R1T in kneel mode if not a smidge lower. I'd like to replace my wife's car at some point with a R2. Imagine....all Rivians in the driveway....plus the 31 year old Camaro in the garage ;)
Woof, really sorry for your tribulations. I am now on the other side of a driver assistance issue after about a year and a half with multiple attempts to resolve. The folks in my SC in Connecticut supported me throughout the entire frustrating at times experience.
Please grant grace and...
I have really enjoyed all of the comments in this thread. Thank you all. And to echo was many have said, my R1T is the best vehicle I have ever owned. When I tell folks how versatile and capable it is, they don't know what to say.
PRESENTING.....the GEAR TUNNEL!
Whoa....cool.....and it goes...
The gentleman asked which country is Rivian made in. He knew what the Rivian was, but appeared content when I said it was manufactured in Normal Il. Kinda wild that ppl think its made elsewhere.
What the actual F is with the rear door? In a actual emergency this is a reasonable actionable solution?
Keeping my gen1. I certainly hope the R2 isn't saddled with this design.
The SC called 9/4 saying they thought they fixed the issue when it recurred on a road test.
Anywho, fast forward past the weekend and the SC let know via messaging on the app that a diagnostic engineer found inconsistent communication in the VDM, vehicle dynamic module which monitors...
I dropped off the truck on Monday morning at the Shelton SC. The folks were great as always. I was allowed to work remotely from there until I got freed up to get a uber ride home.
The shop has messaged me via the app throughout the repair process. For a little background, I took logs when the...
