Sorry to derail this thread but is there any way Canada can make Montana part of British Columbia? Or maybe it's own province given its size. I promise most of the undesirables will move to Wyoming. :CWL:
I did our R1S with this matte black PPF from Amazon. Pretty easy to install and seems very durable. We got it free as an Amazon Vine member.

I googled that part number. Appears to be the same battery used in the G1. How in the world do they justify charging $600 for a $50 battery? Somebody please post the dimensions. I see no reason why we can't throw a LifePO4 in there when the warranty is up...
Here is what the battery access (or lack thereof) looks like on the Gen2. That's a 10a fuse. There is an accessible negative post but no positive post.
Damn. I'm glad you said something. I was planning on making my own adapter. I searched and it looks like the max current through OBD2 is 6 amps and the Deltran adapter has a max current of 3 amps. I need to figure out how to put a pigtail directly on the battery.
EDIT: Just educated myself...
I looked at our Gen2 R1S and didn't see an obvious way to remove the battery without taking out the seat. You can see part of the battery and it appears to be a very small battery same or similar to the Gen1.
I've got a 15a battery charger coming tomorrow and an OBD2 adapter. We put our car...
We've had a '23 I5 Limited AWD for almost 3 years. It's a really nice car. Ride's very smooth and has plenty of power. Software is the weak link for the I5.
They gone from one of the hardest to get EVs to stacked up on dealer lots. Sounds like some dealers are leasing them at huge losses.
Leaving on a long road trip Friday and we have our freezer in the R1S plugged into the cargo 12v. I set the outlet time to stay on for three days as we are starting to load the freezer. If I have the car plugged in is it drawing power from the grid? When it's plugged in and wakes up to charge...
Our Lightning is a big Powerwall for the most part. Runs our house from early morning until close to midnight every day we are in town. Even the 5 ton AC unit (inverter/true variable). Both of our EVs charge from Midnight to 6 am for .02 per kw in the winter and .03 per kw in the winter...
Hey Rivian. Get the V2H working so I can sell my Lightning and replace it with an R1T. Probably a decent amount of people would choose the R1T over the Lightning if it had V2H or even just a 240v plug in the bed capable of at least 7.2kw of power like the Lightning.
Just discovered that the tire mobility kit that came with our Ioniq 5 froze and leaked all over the tub mat. The mat is carpet on top and sound deadening foam on the bottom and is just soaked with the white milky crap. Can't get it clean even with hosing it off. It's trashed. Luckily Hyundai...
Thanks. Looks like they will have to remove the "tub" and replace a controller on both sides or maybe new headlights all together. Mine have PPF on them so hopefully just the controllers.
