Last night I got an email from Rivian to schedule a first mile drive at the Boise service center.

I was in the area and snapped a quick photo. There is an LA Silver and Compass Yellow R1T inside and the big Ford flatbed used for deliveries was on the side. Two lifts that I saw. There was additional Level 2 chargers around the back in addition to the ones previously mentioned in the front.

Thanks to a helpful hint, I was able to find the permit for a RAN charger in Burley, Idaho, next to the Tesla Supercharger. Address: 268 E 5th St N Burley, ID 83318 Permit Link This will be a great stop before the long, windy and windy drive to Tremonton, Utah.

I’m ready for the truck and need the extra range for towing our Airstream. I seem to be in the minority, but I would have taken the dual-motor and 2023 delivery at the pre-March pricing, to get it for a $4500 discount seems like a bonus.

Permits have the Boise service center at 700 North Five Mile Road and the Reddit AMA mentioned it opening “early next year”.

I’m ready for the truck but need the max pack for towing our Airstream out West. I’d gladly take the “downgrade” to the dual-motor if it meant 2023 delivery. Looking forward to the update before end of year and hope we finally have some clarity and options.

You don’t need a rod case when you’re first starting out. I carry all my gear in the back of a Volvo XC40 and assemble the rod and reel at the river. If you eventually get a rod case, the Riversmith one is really nice. Tight lines.

The Department of Energy and Minerals got back to me. They don’t have specifics on the charging speeds at each of the locations, but this round includes chargers “between 62.5kW and 175kW.”

I would have thought this too, but when I joined the Idaho NEVI meeting over Zoom last week it was mostly all Idahoans talking about getting to camping and recreation destinations. It will definitely be an oversized share of the public comments.

Thanks for documenting your journeys, we owe a 19 foot Airstream and have been following your videos closely while we wait for our Max Pack. Based on your experience so far, what kWh consumption would you put in A Better Route Planner to plan a trip with the Airstream?

I’m not super familiar with how the funding works, but Idaho has surprisingly comprehensive corridor nominations relative to the sad state of fast charging in the state today. I was shocked US-12 is proposed, all Rivian owners would love that route.
