Our 2023 R1S (VIN 7xxx) went in last week for the third time for this, planning to have the subframe replaced with the gen 2.
They called a week in and said we already had the updated subframe. So now theyāre replacing the front half shafts (again), hubs and front drive unit.
I was not aware...
Our R2 reservation was meant for me (although so was the R1 reservationā¦.) but weāre pretty convinced that we wonāt keep our R1S that my wife drives after we get the R2. The suspension is about 95% of that decision. Weāve had half shafts replaced multiple times. Multiple torn bushings...
One year later and Iām on my way to the SC to pick up the car after our second wet carpet issue. Same as last time - they claimed it was coming from the HVAC and re-sealed it (??? Iām gonna need more technical info than thatā¦.).
Weāve had our half shafts replaced twice. Most recently added the new ting washers, and they found the front lower control arms bushings were torn, so they replaced the entire arms with an updated model.
40k miles on the R1S. Iāve got a 21 year old 5.9 Cummins that has less suspension issues...
Letās be clear - the bug fixes we get are 100% owed and expected for all generations, as theyāre issues Rivian has caused (directly or indirectly) themselves - whether by lack of testing, lack of data, creating more bugs when trying to introduce features or fix other bugs, etc.
Feature updates...
You think youāre going to change this person, and subsequently the world, by making an example of him? Got a big man right here. I hope you spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to try and get your $100 from him (which, by the way, unless you can prove malicious intent, you are...
I was almost going to leave this one alone, and enjoy the laugh it provided me. But then you commented this and I just have to clarify - your title asked if anyone has been successful prosecuting or reclaiming via small claims. I think you have a significant misunderstanding of the legal...
So yall put these on and generally agree they are more quiet and equally as efficient but perform worse? Hrm.
Iām not fond of the options to replace our OEM pirellis on the S. I may end up doing the PS5S on the 22s and get a winter tire to swap onto my extra set of 20ās that have ATs mounted...
Seconded on Apple Music stability issues returning. Pauses all the time now. Atmos vs non Atmos volume issues as well.
Remind me why everyone loves that Wassym guy again? After two years with our R1S, every. damn. update. has some new or resurfaced problem.
Iām starting to lose my patience with the constant unintended side effects from these updates - with no reasonable way to decline updates or rollback method.
The service center said it wasnāt fully seated. Iām not sure thatās entirely accurate because it was level, but if so, something definitely dislodged it. Iād check that it is seated fully.
Low speed (parking lot speeds) is better on this update.
30-40mph is awful now. This car jumps sideways at any minor road undulation, completely unsettling the car. Specific spots even on our drive into the neighborhood exhibit this behavior.
FWIW after the update our garage quick open button was glitching, and not appearing when actually at the house but randomly coming up when away. A reset seems to have resolved that.
