Im spoiled in this area as my Tesla has free connectivity for life, but all new Teslas also require a network connectivity type subscription. The vendors are passing along the cell connectivity costs to the consumers which is annoying for us consumers but maybe makes sense for them. I'd rather...
With last few updates i've had to force reboot a couple times where the infotainment system was locked up. I only reboot if its doing something wrong and that's only been like 3 times in 16 months.
I did DIY for install and for me it was more mechanical than i'm usually up for but I got it done. Replacing them isn't as daunting for 3 reasons:
1) I already have the holes drilled (though dealing with that extra sticky tape I closed the holes with with be a pain)
2) The bolts arent factory...
I love my running boards, and they’ve helped the family get in and out of through truck but yesterday I noticed a rust like surface all along the edge that didn’t wash off with soap and water.
It’s a large area and obvious and takes away from the look of the truck.
Any suggestions? @EV Sportline
I went through this when I added the Rivian. I've had a Tesla since 2014. I had a Tesla mobile charger I used for 8 years, I swapped that out for a J1772 charger (Chargepoint) and use it to charge both cars (with an adapter for the Tesla). I had a backup plan if one charger/cable wasnt going to...
So I have it in my Tesla Model S, got in early on the FSD Beta and have >30K miles driving with it through all the various versions. When I bought my Tesla (2018) it was a $3K add on. I wouldnt pay for it on the Rivian with its current capabilities. Honestly they just need to nail the divided...
If its just tire type stuff just use a local tire shop. No need to use Rivian for it. I use a local tire place for both my Rivian and Tesla. Otherwise I only take them to the Rivian/Tesla in when something breaks which is pretty rare (less rare on the Tesla with its quirky windows/door handles).
I use it all the time I can. I don’t like it suddenly cutting off on unmapped areas but otherwise it’s decent. About as good as Tesla on similar roads.
Personally I like it better. It’s free forever for the basic stuff and you only have to pay if you want some higher level stuff. ElectriFi is/was only free for 7 days when I looked into it (perhaps a bit longer now) but there’s no long term free tier.
Always a concern with API access but both...
Sorry, it tracks your drives, charges drive modes, efficiency etc. Also has a social aspect to it if you opt in to compare yourself to others.

Has some great data:
TezLab Rivian is available for beta/early access. Many thanks to all the beta testers so far.
Reminder, this is still a beta and a work in progress so some numbers etc could be off.
The app is free, please find it in the iOS or Android app stores.
When I had this early on with my R1T it was because of either seat belts left buckled or my gear tunnel doors not fully closed. Any open door, window or engaged seat belts stops it from sleeping.
The Rivian has a lot more range, and its behavior, per the OP, appears much better (dont leave seat belts buckled though!). Its just less charging options and those that are there are flaky, contested, etc.
Timely post. I have a R1T but unfortunately chose to drive my model S the other day. I left it parked in 30F weather for 9 hours. I left it at 7% charge (I know, no time), came back to 0%/0 miles 9 hours later. I was still able to drive the 1 mile to the Supercharger and get filled back up (for...
