Since I own a horse farm, I'd just have to chime in that this is not a great idea ?
They do lick salt blocks for health reasons but they'd also sample several areas of the truck. Once the sampling was done they'd get frisky and "play" with it. 1,500lbs - 2,000lbs playing with your truck isn't...
My only BMW (5 series many years ago) I wouldnt call luxury. The germans had a thing against cupholders at the time and it was pretty minimal. While I like the German cars, I dont like the maintenance.
Above the electric vs gas, acceleration, etc I love the minimal maintenance on EVs.
I never noticed it from the AC, just the light tapping feeling from wipers moving back and forth. Not the end of the world to me.
vs. my Model S I do consider the R1T more luxurious
My only gripe is charging networks hopefully to be solved by NACS support.
Forgot about that thanks!
I've never seen it do this part:
"The vehicle will automatically nudge you to switch to the new mode if you’re in Conserve and it detects wheel slip and an ambient outdoor temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. "
My wife drove it yesterday in the snow and...
Hi folks, a couple winter questions for you:
1) Snow mode, is there any recommended speed limit on it or is it just reduced regen, suspension etc stuff?
2) Truck complains about radar sensors and helpfully shows some blocks (though the warning comes and goes very quickly):
It seems the...
Ah my wifes was fine, I have the CLI set up to use either a saved token in an ENV variable or to fetch from a json state file. The ENV variable was stale. All good, both accounts going fine.
New one i'm hitting now. Started seeing this after upgrading my R1T to 2023.50.01 on Jan 11:
{'errors': [{'message': 'UNAUTHENTICATED', 'extensions': {'code': 'UNAUTHENTICATED', 'serviceName': None, 'exception': {'message': 'UNAUTHENTICATED', 'locations': [{'line': 1, 'column': 2}], 'path'...
If you're adventurous you can try something like this to fetch data:
https://github.com/the-mace/rivian-python-api
I use that to tweet daily miles and collect all sorts of data.
There's a Ruby one too if that's more your thing.
Both have CLI's and are open source.

Im in the northeast too and I actually find the Rivian does a better job than my Tesla at keeping the cabin at where I set it. The Tesla has all sorts of poor seals on the windows and little insulation in general.
For the drain like others said check seat belts arent plugged in and all openings...
Any chance you had seat belts plugged in but werent in the car? That keeps the HVAC and other things awake indefinitely. It even plays the entertainment too. My wife has a bad habit of buckling an empty seat and it does a number of on the battery.
Makes sense. Im terrible mechanically. Give me a keyboard and i'm dangerous :p
My local tire shop is small and Im with the truck the whole time (they change the tires outside) so I know exactly what they're doing and i've used them for a long time. They're close and its quick and convenient. I...
I wonder what people charge for rotations in various areas. Here, for my R1T, they charge $35 for a rotation.
People are always linking those $300+ jacks, you need 2 I think to do it well (they use 2 on my R1T), then a torque wrench, etc. I have a torque wrench now (thanks to my running...
