  1. A Rivian Road trip across Montana, and parts of Yellowstone.

I recently completed a 20 day, 15 state, 5,000 mile road trip in my R1S Tri. Start/end point central Cali. Eastbound was I-15 and 70 to Missouri, return trip north on 80 and 90 though Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, etc. being from Cali I am used to having plenty of...
  2. RJ Scaringe to serve as Rivian's interim marketing chief

According to the article, it is a newly created position.
  3. Rivian features you didn’t think you’d use (but now love)

I heard the update is supposed to have improved FSD, unfortunately I did not get the update until I got home.
  4. Rivian features you didn’t think you’d use (but now love)

Ok. I have not driven a Porsche EV, just going by what I read. I have had 7 EVs dating back to 2013 and all have had 1-pedal driving.
  5. Rivian features you didn’t think you’d use (but now love)

Driver plus is great on long trips - when it works. I just completed a 15-state 5,000 mile road trip in my 2025 R1S. I was unhappily surprised at the expansive stretches of major interstate freeways where it was inexplicably unavailable.
  6. Rivian features you didn’t think you’d use (but now love)

Not to argue with you, but all Porsche EVs do indeed have regenerative braking (ie, one pedal driving).
  7. Rivian features you didn’t think you’d use (but now love)

Just fyi, every EV has that capability. Most are not adjustable though.
  8. Using Tesla Fast Chargers

Tesla, in my experience, is ALWAYS the best option on road trips. The consistently superior availability, reliability, charging speed, and low price is a game changer. And with the membership, it's even cheaper. On top of that, the membership is month-to-month, so you can use it just when you...
  9. Winter tires should i go with 20 inch or stay with 22's

Are you suggesting that pavement only drivers will be "airing down" for winter driving? 🤣🤣🤣
  10. Winter tires should i go with 20 inch or stay with 22's

(Disclaimer: My R1S is equipped with 20s.) If you do not do serious off-roading, no need for 20s. Plenty of winter tire options with your 22s. Adventure on!
  11. J1772 AC to NACS adapter was left behind HEADS-UP

The adaptor was certainly not "stolen". That said, I am confident that you will be nominated for sainthood some day.
  12. Venting Windows

Yes! It's a handy function available only in the app. I also wish you could completely lower the windows from the app.
  13. Pointers to buy R1S Running Boards - service lift compatible ??

For that, you'll need to get rock sliders. They are much stronger than running boards. Bad news is that they are also quite a bit costlier. I have a set on my R1S from weistec.com which very sturdy and can be used as lift points. Install was easy and imo they they look factory spec. Happy...
  14. Is there “clunking” in the tri-motor Gen 2 R1S in conserve mode?

I've have an R1S Tri since last December. I normally use All Purpose mode, but often switch to Conserve mode on longer road trips for better highway efficiency. I have not noticed any "clunking" sounds.
  15. Mileage and battery life.

I don't have actual numbers, but it seems like I was averaging about 2.2 for the entire trip, in total around 400 miles, conditions as noted. I have not noticed an effeciency decrease since the last software update. I'm taking it on a longer trip next week (maybe 700 miles), which will include...
