Completely agree. Pricing for Rivian owners should be on par with Tesla for Teslas or Tesla subscribers. It is often not even as good as Tesla non-member pricing, and I therefore rarely use RAN chargers.
I find that it varies. I have a Tri-motor R1S with all terrain package. Full charge range when I left home was 352 in Conserve mode. I drove 175 miles, and range still said 173 - only 4 miles off estimate. Drive was 99% freeway, AC and seat cooler on the whole time, dry road, almost no elevation...
I've had an R1S Tri for 6 months. I see the myriad complaints, but keep in mind that people not having problems typically do not speak up nearly as much as those who do. While my experience with service (mobile only so far) has been disappointing, my issues have been cosmetic only. Overall I am...
Your wife is far more easily impressed than is mine. This would be a basic expectation, irrespective of weather or other adversity. Are you the type of person who has 50k Facebook friends and brags on social media about your awesome new haircut?
The compact spare is secured with a bolt. If you have the mount point in your storage area (and provided the kit comes with the bolt), installing it should be quite simple. That said... My R1S came with the compact spare installed from the factory (standard with the off-road package) and I have...
Of course, your wife could successfully argue that you could just as easily have fixed her flat with a $20 inflator from Walmart. I'm glad that you are so proud of yourself though. You should ask your wife to award you a gold star.
The all-terrain package should have included a compact spare for an R1S. Original owner must've removed it. It seems a bit of a joke anyway. I removed mine and use the area for storage.
I'm glad you like your Canyon Red. I wish they would offer some bolder options such as candy apple and bright metallic green or blue. I went with Glacier White because I felt like the black trim and black out package made it stand out a bit.
Neither are popular. I think I've seen exactly one Canyon Red in the wild. I wanted to like it when I ordered my R1S, but I just didn't. Ended up with Glacier White. I really wish Rivian would offer some bolder color options.
Do Waypoints charge that quickly? Normally L2 is like 6.5kW. I have a max pack battery. It takes like 26 hours from 10 to 100% on the public L2 I use most frequently.
Waypoint chargers are level 2 (slow). If you are below about 40-50% SOC (depending on battery capacity) it should still be charging when you get up, so no idle fees.
That sucks about EVBase. I have the powder coated Weistec sliders. Easy 1-person install, very sturdy, no ground clearance loss, and I think they look great.
Good luck, and adventure on!
I agree with you on the BestEVMod flaps. I installed a set on my 2025 R1S. Installation is easy and I think they look OEM quality. They are unobtrusive, but definitely help keep mud off the vehicle.
Adventure on!
