The picture was taken on the 5 in the central valley. The dad took a picture of his young (maybe 4 or 5 year old) son is at an EA charging station. Don't know which direction they're going.
My friend's wife did ask if we're getting ours soon since their other friend is getting his, but wasn't...
Friend of a friend got his car today. Not posting the picture though since it has the person's kid in the photo. Trying to confirm if said person works for Rivian.
Edit: 2019 preorder. Not an employee or related to Rivian. It is a white R1T. In California. Not on the forums.
Most SUVs and vans can fit more than a single carry-on behind the rear seats. I don't like the "lounge seating" because it means that my costco run will be my kids' foot rest on the way home. " Don't crush the fucking croissants!"
This is key. I would add at least 200A subpanel in the garage alone with V2H wiring (generator switch) to allow multiple car charging+ future V2H switching.

You get a lot of non-tech and non-car people who are enchanted by something new. Yes, EVs are the future, but also there's some shady business practices along the way that makes it so infuriating.
It seems like the Joe Rogan and techno-libertarian crowds are particularly in love with Tesla...
Like what Aroohoo mentioned, the car should be around or bigger than a Lexus LX/Land Cruiser. This is body on frame, and closer to a full size SUV. The model X is stupidly small due to the curved greenhouse.
Rivian is using QNX (like the old uconnect systems) with an Unreal engine based UX/UI while GM is using Android Automotive w/ an Unreal engine based UX/UI. I'm assuming that GM might have spent more time working on dialing in the interface in this case.
Congrats. They should be excellent cars.
BTW,sorry for the late response to pricing parity comparisons, but Musk has mentioned in earnings calls that the S and X are the high margin cars that effectively contribute to profit and subsidize other activities. BOM costs don't equate to pricing...
