"Full self driving" as a moniker should be getting Tesla fined quite heavily for overselling an L2 system as something more than that. Plenty of people on the Tesla forums who have paid for it are furious for feeling like they're being scammed
First of all, thanks for the comparison. I believe that XLT + Premium still misses the larger center display, and it misses the moonroof. It's crazy how even the base lariat misses Bluecruise (Which will likely be 19.99/month), and extended battery.
In that sense, the pricing ends up at near...
Exactly. They can’t realistically fulfill anywhere near the number of preorders on the books in a reasonable amount of time. They can thin the ranks and rake in the profits.
Yeah, anyone who understands how manufacturing and supply chain costs work would've said the same thing.
But, let's say that they can get even close to the cost structure they wanted to drive. I guarantee they would sell it for a higher price due to the fact that profits in the truck sector...
The shocking part is how small this car looks for a car that's supposedly "executive" sizing. It can't be much bigger than a Mustang Mach-E. The EQS is more suitable.
Great data. At the same time, plenty of these companies have US factories and facilities due to domestic contracts. Every car factory includes a bunch of long-term supply chain investments from their tier one suppliers. For example, I would fathom a guess that Hyundai Transys Georgia Seating...
I work in a FAANG (not Amazon), and I can tell you that every coworker I know that' worked at Tesla at some point is happy to be out. They talk about Tesla in a PTSD sort of way that is similar to how I hear ex-Apple people talk about Apple (So you can guess, I'm not at Apple either).
Besides, I think I did the math on Reddit in the Motor Trend AMA and determined that they were able to charge about 80kwh (20-80% on the curve) in about 30 minutes on electrify America in real life on a preproduction unit. That sets the average at about 160 KW. The word is that it should also...
I love AA/CP, but the purpose they serve (connectivity with updated data, streaming services); but if the end purpose is served via constant OTA updates and increased connectivity services (Audible, YT Music/Apple Music/etc, ABRP, Plugshare, etc), then it won't be as bad. That part remains to...
Yes, and….?
Your point is about being wealth agnostic. My point is to actually target people who have large carbon footprints.
Your 2001 Civic gets 36mpg, but my large SUV gets 7-9mpg on premium in city driving and maybe 19-21mpg on highway driving on a highway only trip. Getting more cars...
This sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out.
Getting wealthy people out of cars into EVs is actually a good thing. Someone driving an effectively 10mpg (in real life) luxury SUV moving to an EV will be a greater net impact than someone moving out of a 30mpg Rav4.
