Different tech. Only applies to PAAK and Keyfob. I have my phone setup as a key, but no proximity on it and I can leave the phone in the truck (and card in my wallet in the truck) and take the keyfob with me and it works great. I usually like to have two options to get back in, but if I'm close...
2.5 years in to my R1T and without pause - absolutely yes. Still love it. Best vehicle I've ever owned (first EV, not my first pickup). I plan to replace it with another Rivian when the time comes (most likely in another couple of years when the warranty is up).
Actually, NY is colder than Vancouver in the winter months (not by much though). Though once they spread them past Vancouver to just about anywhere else in Canada that changes!
Welcome home! Fantastic vehicle, and fantastic forum (most of the time). Though, like any internet experience - just ignore the part that isn't great. But a wealth of history and information in here if you're willing to dig deep and a lot of knowledgeable folks. Enjoy the experience :)
Welcome to the club! And get used to that ear to ear smile. I'm 2.5 years in and I still love driving the thing! (Also a '23 R1T Quad).
TONS of useful advice on this forum, it's been so great. My recommendation is keep an eye on it, and ignore the typical crap/trolls you see anywhere online...
Financial conservatism... if they can produce all models in Normal and there isn't enough demand to fill that capacity, seems pretty risky to build a second plant and run them both at partial capacity when the market is still looking for a positive news story from Rivian on the # of deliveries...
It worries me that anyone believes this is true. It is GREAT marketing for the song, but that's all. Everything else about it is only 50% good fakeness at this point in our internet trajectory.
There's a video of someone at Rivian talking about this. I can't remember the details, but if I remember right he was talking about not needing to "hide" anything, but they were more wanting to have fun with it and sort of play along with the tradition of doing something.
I can't remember the exact numbers, but I checked when I was considering this setup and they weren't spot on, but they were "close enough" (from my completely untrained mind in this area). I'll report back if/when I ever need to give it a go
