The lease on our 2024 Gen 1 Quad will end in a year. Initially I was convinced we would just turn it in and lease or finance a new R1S. The problem with this approach is that we would need to “downgrade” to a Dual to keep the same monthly payment. So now we are considering buying out the lease...
in theory, but you also have to consider the overall roof’s load capacity, not just the fact that the weight is more evenly dispersed with the 6 mounting points.
Still, The dynamic roof load limit is 250 lbs.
Static load capacity is 780 lbs. this means, you can have 250 lbs of RTT, plus 400...
Chicago. Plus the door has a lock and customers must be buzzed in by the security guard. It’s surrounded by not so nice neighborhoods. This was the first SC opened by Rivian in the Chicagoland area. The Normal (HQ) and the new Melrose Park (a suburb near Ohare Airport) centers are nicer, more...
Re: Count - All the more reason for a service center to provide some basic amenities for its waiting customer who just drove two hours. I realize I’m being a bit hyperbolic.
Regardless of your outcome, I think it’s safe to say that there has been a shift in the customer experience level we are used to receiving from Rivian. Otherwise we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
Not being greeted by anyone when I show up with my vehicle. I have to get the attention of...
It’s still on back order? Ugh. I have been without a key fob since September; mine stopped working. I was told it was on back order. No solution was offered as to how I would receive a new one. So I finally called service a few weeks ago. They did not mention there was still a back order and...
I can only assume Rivian repaired the vehicle properly by retightening the knuckles to the proper torque. Everything seems to be working, feeling, and sounding right.
My comment is more about noticing a deterioration in customer experience at one of the service and delivery centers; the...
I was waiting for a relevant thread to post this (because it’s probably not worth starting a new one). I had the R1S in the Chicago service center for the recall a couple of weeks ago. Hadn’t been to that location in a while. There was a noticeable deterioration in the environment. Zero...
Gen 1 R1S quad here. I know the thermal management is not very good if I am driving for 90 minutes at 20F and the regen braking remains reduced all the way to the end of the drive.
I have the one HTs. I’ve think they’ve been phenomenal in the snow for all season tires. Yeah, they are a little noisier, but not as bad as all terrains.
My key fob stopped working this past summer and Rivian told me they need to replace it, but it’s out of stock. I am still waiting. If you put it on eBay I think there would be demand for it.
the vehicle was 2 months old with less than 3K miles on it. It happened on the first road trip in the middle of Montana about 1/2 way into a 2,000 miles drive to the west coast.
You are right about your first point. Also, I think conserve can be useful in tight range situations. Sometimes an extra 20 miles is actually very necessary.
