Gen 1 Max isn't easy to find, @meshugy, but we're very happy with ours!
Gen 1 Max has about 141 kWh of usable capacity, with good range and charging curves.
Best wishes!
Even when there are financial advantages to driving the Bolt, @slippingsloth, we feel safer in the Rivians.
Driving something that big is a big responsibility, but we think overall the Rivians are a better safety bet.

Rivian's crash avoidance features are the best we've ever...
I love the teasing -- and you guys are also correct! It's just a vehicle. It's not my child.
Most of us paid for our Rivians, though, with several months of work (or its equivalent). It's easier to keep our Rivians safe than it is to fix them if someone breaks them.
I was one of the first...
Everything has unintended consequences, @racekarl, and deaths per mile continue to decrease.
Consider the traffic circle. In the 1980's, I thought of circles as a quaint vestige, found only in New Jersey, and soon to vanish from there too. Now circles are in many states, because they lower...
I like my local Costco, and I have become VERY comfortable with that store, but it's far more than just whether they have the pucks or not!
Training and comfort levels (yours and theirs) are just as necessary as the pucks, and much more variable.

My understanding, @blank_lemur, is that V1/V2 Superchargers will stay unavailable because they can't recognize ANY non-Tesla EV, regardless of connector type. It's not just that "they don't do CCS."
Thanks for your thoughtful post!
Of course, @SDH and @KBabione! Enforcement is needed, because some people choose behavior that poses an unreasonable risk to others. I wouldn't want to live in a world without enforcement.
However, the number of lives saved by enforcement, even as dramatic as @SDH describes from Europe, is...
Not the only rollover at that intersection, here's one from 2022:

When there's a pattern, there's a need for community action.
Scolding people to be safer drivers has limited value for crash prevention.
Engineering safer road/signal/signage conditions prevents a lot more crashes...
I always assume we're in mixed company -- all genders, all "races," all cultures.
For EVs to succeed, forums like this need to feel safe for EVERYONE.
Best to all!
There's that, @NY_Rob -- but there's also the fact that modern cars are designed to sacrifice their own lives to save ours. When a vehicle's "crumple zone" works right, humans can walk away from crashes that have severely deformed the vehicles.
Humans have always been wired to take risks. I...
For each trip, @Hoski, you may have to inform Rivian Nav of your minimum expected State of Charge upon arrival at chargers and at destination. Too high a reserve charge can require more stops, and can push charging into a less efficient part of the charging curve.
Rivian Nav is an...
My understanding is that R1T and R1S each have their own VIN sequences, @Tejkalra.
More R1T's than R1S's were built early. More R1S's than R1T''s have been built in recent years.
I'm not surprised that R1S's VIN numbers have now far surpassed R1T's.
Best wishes!
I remember when @Discount Tire was a strong presence on this forum. An excellent brand ambassador and troubleshooter.
Unfortunately, his/her bosses pulled the plug on his/her Forum activity. I think they preferred the predictability of press releases and ads, rather than the unpredictability...
I keep forgetting to turn Traction Control off. But it's often important to do so.
With Traction Control disabled, the wheels keep spinning as long as YOU tell them to.
Sometimes that's enough to get you up a hill even though you only have "a fraction of the traction."
I hope this helps!
Ewww.... [cringing!]
I think I would hate that implementation even if the view through the windshield weren't blurry.
Please don't put ANYTHING where it even partially blocks the horizon line directly in front of me. Scary!
Over the holidays, on a trip from Olympia to Maple Valley, the Rivian Nav took my wife off the exit from WA-18 east to WA-169 north at Auburn.
OK, maybe they're trying to help her avoid the traffic. So she took the exit as the Nav directed her.
Then the Nav immediately told my wife to...
I don't know, @Greg Chick, but I know whom you should ask.
The Spikes-Spider representative for North America is Scott Meyer in El Dorado KS [pronounced "ell dor-RAY-doh", outside Wichita], (316) 321-2400 or (800) 227-5260. I was Scott's first (and maybe only) Rivian customer, so he will...
What amazes me in these photos is the vertiginous disorientation of vertical and horizontal. Without seeing humans in the pictures, sometimes I literally wouldn't know which way is up.
Thanks for sharing, @JeremyP!
