Yeah I pretty regularly see the message warning about reduced regen above 90% on my Large+, which is the equivalent of 77% on your Max. Regen is virtually non-existent above about 95% on mine, which would be 81% on yours. Iād expect that drastic reduction on a true Large pack, though. is regen...
Oh, one more sort-of a downside. As we approach 100% SoC, our Regen is diminished. Yet for the Large+, weāre still ~20kWh from a true ā100%ā, so why diminish the regen?
@jrothman did you ever get the one you found?
No love yesterday at the Barstow, CA, RAN. Itās a solid $0.64/kWh. Itās also a Rivian Only location, if that factors into it. I may try the Vegas RAN on the way back later in the week.
How incorrectly have they fit? I have one on my Gen 2 that I'm happy enough with. It isn't 100% perfect but, I'd say 95%, once installed and tucked into the trim, no one ever notices that it isn't OEM. That said, I am absolutely disinclined to ever remove it to enjoy the pano because it's...
@bigsky is still clinging to the willfully disingenuous theoretical energy density of a gallon of gas, I see. If he wants to encourage others to take Physics 101 and then willingly insult others' basic math skills, he can challenge himself to do just that and apply physics to the effect fueling...
Add into the mix that you'll never have to have a $50 to $200+ oil change in an EV, never have any transmission maintenance, timing chains, spark plug replacement, and may rarely have to replace brake pads or resurface rotors as well.
The cherry-pickers, when mentioning gas being "under $3 per...
I just finished a nearly 3000 mile round trip from CA to CO and back. I didnāt use a RAN once because of both pricing and practicality. I wouldnāt rule it out 100% though. Sometimes there just may be a need and RAN may be the only place that fits at the time.
To say nothing of the flimsy body paneling. Holy hell when I'd open my frunk on my Model Y it felt like my 1978 Honda Accord.. if I exerted too much torque the thing would just totally bend. It was nice getting out of that and in to a real well-built car.
@andrewgrhogg can make any...
1. As far as I know, we can charge to 100%. Over 21k miles I have charged to 100 semi-regularly. (RivianTrackr and other sources discussed)
2. I have no knowledge of this motor difference. (Just read the rest of the thread so would like to believe we have the same config as the Max as well, but...
Because Walmart is funding the entire thing. Random Chevron station owner is more or less on their own which makes it cost prohibitive for all but a few. I expect as chargers become more ubiquitous the gap will narrow and more will do exactly that.
Oh right, I meant to describe that in my post.
I don't have an Apple Watch so identically matching test variables will not happen for me. I do have the magnetic phone mount between the driver screen and the center screen, so I'll consistently measure my own noise from the same spot every time...
I tested today and got an average of 67.1db over about 1 mile. I was trying to keep it above 80mph, peaking at 84mph. I have done mostly driver door mods, but then would mirror them on the passenger door as well. Not quite as extensive as has been discussed here, but have definitely drawn...
Iād love to switch it up to a warehouse pickup since I live about 45 minutes away, from their Valencia, CA warehouse, but not getting any replies to my email. Iām sure theyāre busy so itās not a huge deal, except my son is going camping tomorrow so I was hoping to use the Air Cruiser as a test...
If you want to claim "because it's the law," that's fine. Then cling to that. Heck, even if it were only law in one state, that would be enough, imo. I have a CarPodGo screen now that I can't play video on, but had a Porsche Cayenne where I could both stream and play DVDs. But to argue that...
Ooh this one is useful for me.
I just hit 6/32 with a couple of 5/32 spots on my 22s and am at 22k miles. Rotated and rebalanced twice so far. Doing basic math I think I can get over 5k more miles, but timing is inconvenient since Iāll be doing a lot of road tripping soon.
Seeing the poll...
