Oh, one more sort-of a downside. As we approach 100% SoC, our Regen is diminished. Yet for the Large+, we’re still ~20kWh from a true “100%”, so why diminish the regen? @jrothman did you ever get the one you found?

I just finished a nearly 3000 mile round trip from CA to CO and back. I didn’t use a RAN once because of both pricing and practicality. I wouldn’t rule it out 100% though. Sometimes there just may be a need and RAN may be the only place that fits at the time.

Because Walmart is funding the entire thing. Random Chevron station owner is more or less on their own which makes it cost prohibitive for all but a few. I expect as chargers become more ubiquitous the gap will narrow and more will do exactly that.
