  1. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country AT3 EV (LT275/65/20) - 17K Mile Review on the Rivian R1T

I think the Open Country ATIII EV (mine are LT) are the tires to beat on a Rivian for an all-terrain use case. They're excellent daily drivers for what the class of tire and perform well off road.
  2. New Rivian Video/Ad - “What If?”

It reminds me why I love my Rivian. It's a mission-driven vehicle made by a mission-driven company that has literally taken me to new lands. Can't ask for more than that.
  3. How to Improve a Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System With Simple EQ Changes (Equipment Measured Tests & Results)

Glad the settings helped. I wouldn't be surprised if the baseline performance of the system has continued to change over the last several updates, but probably not by much. It has certainly converged on a more appropriate tuning. I still use the last settings I posted and they sound good to me...
  4. TSB -- RSB-10-23-001-1: Steering Wheel Vibration for model year 2022 - 2023. The driver may notice a slight vibration of the steering wheel

Thanks for sharing this. I think I’m affected by this issue. Have had a slight but noticeable vibration that seemed unrelated to tires or brake rotors. Some of the vinyl is coming off my 2023 steering wheel much sooner than I would expect. A replacement would resolve both issues.
  5. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

That's unfortunate. Another option is to change them out yourself and get an alignment from the SC. I'm picking up a tie rod repair kit before heading out on the trails this weekend so I can repair them myself. No point in having spares if I can't change them! Here's a video showing how to do a...
  6. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

Wow, I'm surprised and sorry to hear that. Work like this could fall into a grey area that leave SCs to decide whether they'll do it or not based on how they interpret company policy. Something similar happened with aftermarket rock sliders. Some SCs would put slider-equipped vehicles on a...
  7. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

I forgot about that post. I linked it back to here. Thanks
  8. Gen 2 tie rods stronger than Gen 1?

Got second-generation tie rods retrofitted. Posted here. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/upgrading-gen-1-14mm-tie-rods-to-stronger-gen-2-16mm-tie-rods.44916/
  9. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

Yeah, I spoke to at least three different support reps and two SC techs to clarify my ask and figure out a game plan. My impression is that retrofitting tie rods is not SOP. The biggest complication came from them having to research which tie rods my VIN had and determining if the new tie rods...
  10. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

Good question. I replaced proactively because the 16mm tie rods are incompatible with the 14mm rods. The inner and outer rods have to be replaced together. Because the inner tie rods are by far the most likely to break (per Rivian support and anecdotal evidence), I only wanted to buy and carry...
  11. If your suspension is loud - get it in for service

Can confirm. Just had my jounce lines replaced and my Gen 1 R1S is quieter than I thought possible.
  12. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

Here's some video from a test track run I did a year or so back. I'm working on a much more comprehensive writeup of how far I've pushed my Rivian, but it'll be a few months before I finish it...
  13. Show off your R1S Storage setup for camping/overlanding gear

A large rooftop cargo box has been our answer to R1S storage. It provides enough storage for two people to overland for four days and four people to car camp for at least two days, probably four. We haven't found a storage solution with enough capacity for four people to overland for four days...
  14. Upgrading Gen 1 (14mm) Tie Rods to Stronger Gen 2 (16mm) Tie Rods

Earlier Gen 1 Rivians have 14mm tie rods that are less-than-ideal tie rods for rock crawling and heavy trail use. Edit: Mine is a 2023 Gen 1 R1S. A few fellow Lone Star Rivian Club members with earlier Gen 1s like mine broke their tie rods on the trail, which resulted in lengthy recovery times...
  15. How to Improve a Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System With Simple EQ Changes (Equipment Measured Tests & Results)

Sure thing! I never measured another Gen 2 Premium after the Atmos update. Couldn’t find anyone in Austin willing to lend their vehicle for testing. That said, it seems like the sound system’s behavior has mostly stabilized and the majority of folks are either content with it or are replacing...
  16. Toyo Open Country A/T III EV Tires (LT275/65R20) - Fantastic (Review & Efficiency Stats)

Noise remains low overall. I noticed some zipping sound when turning left from the right front tire when the sound bounced off gutters and came through my open window but I believe this has more to do with an alignment issue than the tires. I don't hear anything similar from the left side. The...
  17. Toyo Open Country A/T III EV Tires (LT275/65R20) - Fantastic (Review & Efficiency Stats)

Hey all, I finally got out to the trails this past weekend and updated my review with impressions of their off-road performance. See the updated post here: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/toyo-open-country-a-t-iii-ev-tires-lt275-65r20-fantastic-review-efficiency-stats.35897/
  18. 20" Inch Tire Guide for 33" & 34" options - Choosing the Best 275/60R20 – 275/65R20 Tires

Nice to see my R1S on the cover photo ? Useful to link to various forum threads on each of these tires to help people find more owner feedback?
  19. Gen 2 tie rods stronger than Gen 1?

Update: Calipers read 14mm at the knuckle-end of the tie rod on my Gen 1 R1S. If the new rods are 16mm, I'll ask the SC to swap them.
