Daily driving in TX has been excellent. I find them quite sporty for their class. They have better wet weather traction than I initially assumed but I’d still be cautious taking hard corners on wet surfaces at speed. No experience in snow yet.
I'm considering asking SC to replace my Gen 1 inner and outer tie rods with the updated rods used on Gen 2 vehicles because I heard they are stronger. SC will happily do it, but they haven't been able to confirm that the Gen 2 tie rods are stronger than Gen 1.
Has anyone done this swap on their...
It’s hard to remember that far back but I’d say new Pirellis and new ATIII have about the same noise volume but different pitch. If memory serves, the Pirellis were higher pitch. Neither are distracting when new.
I suggest bumping 63 hz and 125hz by +1 increments and listening to the result for a bit before bumping more. One thing to keep in mind about bass is that songs vary a lot in how much bass information they actually contain. Many older songs—say 90s and older—contain little bass information...
I haven't measured the Gen 2 Premium system since the Atmos update but if it requires that amount of EQ adjustment, that suggests to me the system is tuned incorrectly.
What EQ settings are you using in your Gen 1 Meridian? When I posted EQ settings for the Gen 1 R1T Meridian—the best sounding...
As I mentioned in my write-up, I haven’t wheeled with these tires yet. 95%+ of my miles are on road. However, I will update this post when I off-road later this year. I’m not too concerned about the side walls. They feel solid. That said, I will still practice good technical skills where I can...
Yeah. I have been a loyal TIDAL user for years but I’m considering the same. I don’t have streaming quality issues in my Gen 1 Elevation, but the UI is awful. And Apple Music auto switching between Atmos and stereo is pretty cool.
It’s just that I don’t use Spotify. I don’t enjoy listening to it. It streams at a lower bitrate than Tidal and Apple Music. Plus, I don’t maintain a testing playlist in it. I have Spotify because my kids have their playlists in it. When they use it, I turn off my audio engineer brain and just...
I'd say start with the Elevation settings I gave here and boost 63 Hz, 125 Hz, 4 kHz, and 8 kHz by 1-2 notches to recover some low and high-frequency emphasis that Bluetooth typically compresses away. You won't be able to recover that information, but you can compensate for the loss of...
Thanks very much for the cups, buddy! Glad the settings helped. Enjoying the music is what it's all about, at the end of the day. I think the car has become one of the best places to listen to music these days, especially on long drives or while waiting in traffic. We get so little unbroken time...
Thanks for the several cups of sake, my friend! They'll be much enjoyed. Glad the settings helped!
Curious, do you hear a difference between TIDAL and Apple Music?
