  1. Live from Rivian Roadshow - R2 in Borealis & First Look at Sleeping Mattress w/ Fold Down Rear Seats + V2L Adapter

A "deep in the weeds" question. Let's say one has invested a lot of money in 20" rims and snow tires for their Gen 1 R1S. Will these fit on the R2? Bolt pattern, offset? Thanks.
  2. Picked up my first Rivian last night. From BMW X7 to Rivian R1S.

Congratulations and I also love the Borealis. I found your post informative for another reason. My wife is eyeing the BMW i3 as a potential replacement for her 2018 Model 3. I wasn't aware BMW was having the software issues you mentioned. We'll keep an eye on the reviews after next week's i3...
  3. Plug and Charge vs. EA Pass+ Issue

I ran into this on my last trip. EA is now "plug and play" with Rivian, so if you plug in first you will always have to pay the higher price. At one stop, I had no signal on my Verizon phone, but the car had a good signal. I turned on the car's hotspot, then logged in on my phone to open the app.
  4. Rivian is now part of Costco Auto Program 🛒

I thought a Costco R1 purchase would be a good deal. Unfortunately, they only come in jumbo packages of 36.
  5. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

To answer the original question: -Best vehicle to move with: 16' U-Haul box truck rental - Worst vehicle: 1985 Yugo Slightly more serious answer takes me down memory lane. I did a number of partial DIY military moves. The absolute best vehicle I ever used was a 1993 Plymouth minivan towing a...
  6. Weird issue (resolved) anyone seen before? Maps, Cruise, Settings not working right

I had similar symptoms in my Gen 1 R1S, but the infotainment reset cleared it up. I can't think of any other recommendations that you haven't tried yet.
  7. How to bring your bricked Rivian back to life.

After watching the video, the solution was obvious. I'll keep a 1982 Crown Victoria in the frunk. But alas, with traction boards, recovery straps, and adapters, I didn't have enough room. I think I can fit an old Volkswagon Rabbit. On a serious note, the video was a bit disconcerting. I would...
  8. I bricked my R1S in the Oregon Outback - Learn from my mistake!

@TractorJackie , great write up, and as others said, I really applaud your attitude in working through your crisis. There are a lot of excellent recommendations in your post. I hope you and your dog enjoyed the rest of your outdoor adventure!
  9. Cybertruck Laugh of the Day [⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS BANNED]

It took me a second or two to see the key element of this photo...just before I lost my lunch. The CT is notorious for cracks in the glass, and trim, but this one is new.
  10. Alexa not Recognizing Commands

I'm concluding that it's not a specific issue with my vehicle. I thought it was something I said to make Alexa feel unappreciated. We're scheduled for counseling next week.
  11. Alexa not Recognizing Commands

Thank you for the quick reply. So it does sound as if this is related to the last update.
  12. Alexa not Recognizing Commands

R1S Gen 1, Sep 2023 build. Software 2025.46.0 I'm not sure when this started but voice commands using Alexa have stopped working after functioning perfectly for 2.5 years. This is just the basic, in-car Alexa, and not tied to my Amazon account. Basic commands, for temp and fan speed, for...
  13. Colorado Checking In

Definitely. You make back the $13 after only one or two charging sessions. On our route, using 2 EA stations each way was unavoidable so I also bought the $8 premium account for them. We used the accounts for 10 days, then canceled, but definitely saved money in the process. One heads up...
  14. 100k miles on my Rivian R1T

Great post and congratulations! How many 12 V batteries have you gone through, and do you have the single or the dual 12 V batteries?
  15. Colorado Checking In

Agree. I had stopped using them when prices were the $0.55 to $0.60 /kWh range. But I just completed a 3600 mile road trip and found RANs to be competitive again to EA and Tesla, both with premium accounts. RAN is back at the top of my list...well, maybe tied with IONNA. With plug and play now...
  16. Colorado Checking In

@COroamer33 welcome to the Rivian family! And thank you for this info. I didn't realize Lakewood RAN was close to opening. This is a very useful location for coming out of the mountains and charging before heading south to C-Springs. Looks like this station uses time of day pricing between...
  17. 8 nights unplugged in cold weather, shipping mode _results

Great test. I can't think of anything else you could have done. Still, even though better than your previous 5% daily loss, 1.62% per day still seems excessive to me given your extreme energy conservation methods. A standard battery is 92.5 kWh. So assuming that's approximately 90 kWh of usable...
  18. Inaccurate nav SOC prediction (wind?) on Clayton, NM to Pueblo, CO stretch

This is absolutely consistent with encountering high winds with any level of a headwind or crosswind component. I've seen this a number of times in CO, KS, and especially I-80 in Wyoming. You did the right thing by slowing down. That is your single best "emergency reserve" since drag force is...
