  1. Rivian's smart software logic saves me from myself

You have my vote for best post of 2025. It had it all: dramatic build, suspense, and poop jokes. Well done.
  2. 3rd party wall chargers ok or not?

I used the review articles on Insideevs.com and bought the basic, non-internet Grizzl-e. All the programming I need to do, I can do from the car. Stick with name brands and UL-rated devices. This is not an item you want to get from a guy in a trenchcoat on a street corner. Your fire department...
  3. R2 Delayed?

Right now I have far more pressing issues than the status of my R2 reservation. Such as, can Philly actually beat Buffalo today and not make it look ugly?
  4. Cooking Xmas Dinner While Driving UPDATED

A tip of my slide rule to you. That's some impressive and tasty engineering.
  5. Cybertruck Laugh of the Day [⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS BANNED]

It's all a misunderstanding. The driver's friend suggested that, like houses, flipping used trucks would be a great way to earn extra money.
  6. Colorado Checking In

It was more like this if you substitute the Charlie Brown tree for the one in this gif.
  7. Colorado Checking In

Procuring the Christmas tree Colorado style: Pike and San Isabel National Forest. A great way to get a tree and support the NFS at the same time. Also a good excuse for some winter off-roading.
  8. Sleigh Bells lock sound?

Sleigh bells would be fine as long as it doesn't impact my owl hoot. They can have my owl hoot when they pry it from my cold dead talons.
  9. Question: L2 and battery preconditioning.

So is this reset technique supposed to be a permanent fix, or do you have to perform it every time the battery drops below 40 deg F?
  10. Question: L2 and battery preconditioning.

Are all the folks experiencing this in Gen 2 vehicles? I've not seen this in my Gen 1.
  11. Tire Replacement Info

I've had a great experience with Michelins over a number of cars and multiple decades. I think you are correct!
  12. Tire Replacement Info

I wanted to close the loop on this thread. Until the last minute, I was on the fence between the Toyo Open Country AT III EV (SL), and the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2. I liked the 3PMSF rating of the Toyos, but the potential efficiency gain on the Michelins. Ultimately, rational analysis won out...
  13. Ah winter and ice again. Side mirrors frozen

Yeah. For our Colorado winters I usually disable auto-fold. I'll manually fold to pull into the garage where they won't freeze.
  14. Preparing my home for an EV charger... advice.

Both options are code compliant. - 6 AWG can be run as individual wires through conduit, or - 6 AWG NM-B can be run through wall cavities and attic. NM-B should never be run through conduit. Your best option is the conduit run. It's easier, cheaper, and your landlord will appreciate not punching...
  15. Tesla Supercharger Charging Speed

It may not be your adapter. I've had the same experience as others have stated here. I typically hit the DCFC stops with 10% to 15% SOC, and preconditioned. At maybe 70% of my Tesla Supercharger stops, I get flawless charging, topping out at 212 kW. At the other approximately 30%, I get the...
  16. Lemon Law Buyback Done, but DMV Still Shows Me as Owner

Colorado has an online process for a seller to notify DMV of a sale within 5 days. It's optional, but it offers protection to the seller. Your sale was multiple months ago, but you may want to call, or visit, California DMV and see if they csn help. It would be even better if you had paperwork...
  17. R2 Test Drives Schedule?

If it works like my R1, the test drive will occur when I drive my new purchase home from the service center. 😄
  18. Will R1S go the distance? - How to maximize range

Conserve Mode first, then listen to the laws of physics. The single biggest range factor under your control is drag. Start the trip at 5 mph below the speed limit and watch your predicted state of charge at destination. When it's up at a comfortable level, you can increase your speed. I think...
  19. Will 275/60 R20 be ok?

Thanks! I like that storage bag idea, and the idea of having a full size spare at home for local flats.
  20. Will 275/60 R20 be ok?

I would have preferred a full size spare for my gen 1 R1S vs the compact spare I have. May I ask where you will carry the spare since it won't fit in the spare tire well of the R1S? Will this just sit in the cargo area and tied down? Thanks.
