Throughout Kansas, IONNA costs either $0.37 or $0.39 per kWh. Not only is this far cheaper than RAN, it is on par with Tesla Superchargers using the membership discount. I've changed up my usual I70 charging stops in KS (all Tesla and RAN) to all IONNA.
Under the category of "you can't fix stupid": Red Mountain Pass closed
(KIA Telluride gets stuck on Black Bear road after driver warned not to attempt the drive).
They need a Rivian to extract this car. Or, and this would be my first choice, just push the Kia over the cliff.
It's really difficult to tell from the photos, but in your third picture it looks to me like something hit and damaged the half shaft at some point.
But my observations aren't worth squat. I would be very interested to hear what Rivian comes up with when you take it in.
I'm sorry you have to go...
This site opened in Dec 2024 and I like having it. Yes, the bathroom availability is restricted by the food market hours, but on this stretch of Hwy 160 I'll take any charging options I can get. By charging here I could have easily made it to the Cortez Supercharger on my way to AZ, but I...
I'm still frustrated by this in the app (v 3.5.1) on a Galaxy S23. I continue to search for settings in the app to switch to light-mode, but with no luck. No luck either when going to the phone settings>Apps>Rivian.
Cranking up the phone brightness only provides marginal improvement on satellite...
@Sgt Beavis , first a quick clarification. The demand charge is based on power (kW), not energy (kWh).
Unlike some other utilities, United uses an "anytime demand charge." This means there is no on-peak or off-peak differentiation. So during a billing cycle, the highest average power for any 15...
I think it's a great sign that Rivian feels Colorado sales can support 3 service centers in Denver and 1 in Colorado Springs. I appreciate having a SC only 30 minutes away, but it would also be nice if Rivian showed the western slope some love.
Per @usulio 's recommendation, I updated the chart with 33" (275/60R20) options where they were available. These options showed a 1 to 6 lb reduction in weight. But combined with the smaller diameter, there should be some improvement in efficiency. So now I have more options to mull over.
In the almost two years I waited to take delivery, I went through four colors with Red Canyon being one. I ended up with Forest Green, but still really like the red.
Rivian really messed with me by having so many attractive color options.
No reason other than matching the specs of my original tires. However, I am aware that Rivian is delivering new vehicles with 33" Goodyears, so I probably should be looking at more 275/60R20 options. Thanks for pointing this out.
Those are an LT class of AT tire and, from what I read, an outstanding choice for folks that do serious off-roading. That 66 lbs, needed to provide the durability, is a non-starter for me. I saw a couple of comments in another thread that the extra 20 lbs of weight per tire reduces efficiency by...
One buying tip for those eligible for the military discount at Discount Tire: even though Discount Tire acquired Tire Rack, if you order online from Tire Rack and have DT mount the tires, you will not find the military discount online. You can if you order through the Discount Tire website but...
I'm with you on this. This is why I'm still on the fence between the Toyos and Michelins. I do very little true off-roading, but I like the idea of being ready to go off-road if a good opportunity comes up.
I probably won't finalize my decision until the day I order.
[Edit 9/11/25: Added 275/60R20 tires to the chart]
Just in case anyone else would find this useful...
