I was thinking over the weekend, I will miss the iDrive knob from my last few BMWs. Say what you want about touchscreens, I got a lot of value out of being able to control the center screen/settings without having to move my hand over to the screen and instead be able to scroll/select/navigate...
Frequently? Sure. Hourly will probably slow down at some point though.
Related: I was looking because my climate controls in the app seem to be greyed out. Is there some setting I missed in the infotainment system to activate this?
I just stopped carrying a wallet at all about 6 months ago - in an age of everything EDC and people seeming to want to carry entire Batman utility belts around, I have my iPhone with a MagSafe wallet - holds my ID and 2 credit cards. It's...liberating.
House has a smart lock so no need for a...
I was a bit surprised too but 6-8 of them showed up in the R1 shop and I proceeded to agonize about it for the next 48 hours before pulling the trigger. I like the color more and more every time I look at it.
Fully prepared for the eggs, tomatoes, and any other things to be thrown at me, but this has been an incredibly fast, easy, and mildly nerve-wracking car purchases I've done!
Little back story: last time I bought a new car, right before returning to the dealer for pickup, I was told I was being...
Yea, the idea for fleets is that you can take the fleet card out of drivers' hands and thereby prevent fraud. But it's also real-time location-based payment authorization and authentication based on a physical device - aka a more secure credit card.
www.gocariq.com - my second shameless plug. These guys have plug and charge 100% solved for fleets today. When it gets integrated into OEM head units, watch out.
So, some early customer research from an idea i've pitched around: take an app you're using already for vehicle-related work. If they offered you the opportunity to buy EV credits usable across multiple networks, would you?
Hey gang - I presume someone here has traded in a vehicle with a lien from BMW FS. The payoff letter says the amount is good for me only and may not be honored for a 3rd party. Any concern here?
I could work my way around this if I needed to, but seems like a hassle. My trade-in offer from...
For what it’s worth, no one in the industry expects Rivian to fold (Now, I don’t think anyone I knew expected Argo AI to fold either, but…).
They’re in trouble now but have cash and liquidity to get through 2025 at a minimum. And that’s presuming they continue losing money at the rate they are...
Awesome! Seems like if you want a “top tier” config (like you and I) the wait times are shortening. Good for lots of things, including the stock price.
My experience says both of these things are true. In fact, rework happens a lot more often than you think at the plant - vehicles go through final QA and get all sorts of little tweaks and adjustments. I'd hope if they had it at an SC and a customer said a panel gap is too big they'd attempt to...
Thanks gang. Good to know. Still trying to get to some events locally and even swing by the SC to see some colors in person as I haven't had a lot of chances to do so.
Curious about those folks who've decided to purchase from the R1 shop rather than wait for their build - what's the typical timeline? I know the website says 6-8 weeks, is that about right?
