  1. Rivian Says Running Boards Negate Battery Warranty

May I suggest this as an alternative: https://a.co/d/6M1TvPz Won't void your warranty and will allow you to navigate the seemingly impossible task of stepping in and out of a vehcile that lowers itself to within inches of the ground. Seriously, do y'all rock crawl every day or are y'all 5'2"?!
  2. For all the people wanting CarPlay... GM is dropping it

People might not lament the lack of AA/CP as much if Rivian actually had a decent nav and text capability. But apparently being able to switch lanes in Driver+ is more of a priority. ?
  3. BestEvMod has a Christmas gift for you! Christmas giveaway raffle!

I like the 360 view the most.
  4. Lucid per car loss is crazy

Luckily for Rivian too. Still, I don't see Lucid surviving long term unless they change their market. Their new minivan is a start. Incumbent upscale brands have caught up and have them beat on service, price, and features. Lucid doesn't have a unique enough offering, or customer base, to...
  5. Replacement Key Card insanity

Drive to the SC with a 12 pack of some local IPA and bribe someone to do it on the spot.
  6. 'Internal rumors' from my mobile service tech (800V, LFP, new quad motor variant & more!)

I would imagine the frame would be fine...it's all the other little bits taking the brundt of that torque which need to be revisited, both internal and external to the motors and drive units. Don't get me wrong, I would be more than happy to receive a 400hp OTA.
  7. 'Internal rumors' from my mobile service tech (800V, LFP, new quad motor variant & more!)

1000hp is a toggle switch and maybe a few tweaks structurally. 1200hp will require some significant engineering changes to make sure a whole lot of sh*t doesn't break when you punch it.
  8. UAW is coming after Rivian

Certainly, look in the mirror. Ask yourself if another $2k would have discouraged your purchase (tax credit aside, if you qualified). You would be lying if you said yes. That's only $30 a month extra over the course of your loan. Cars aren't $20k any more. Or even $40k. The average new car...
  9. UAW is coming after Rivian

100%. But do you know why they do it? Because it works. A lot.
  10. UAW is coming after Rivian

Someone correct me but the accountants and engineers are at corporate, earning fixed salaries, and thus aren't UAW members. They are part of fixed overhead, which is a considerable cost, but again, not affected by rises in plant wages. Not making a comment for or against unions by the way, just...
  11. UAW is coming after Rivian

Fact: it's easy to have an opinion without zero facts to back it up. Try using your words.
  12. Bluetooth Causes Maxed Volume After Exit

My Android volume is maxed out while connected to Bluetooth audio in the Riviann and playing music. Adjusting the volume on my phone doesn't do anything (in my prior vehicles it did).
  13. Rivian Reopens 1930s Theatre in Laguna Beach CA as First Flagship Retail Location

Re: speed - production vs non-production, not a fair comparison. Bosch and Enduro motors are likely governed for a variety of reasons and with 4 of them in the quad, a simple keystroke combo by a Rivian engineer could unlock another 20 to 40 hp per motor and whoop the Cybersuck's ass.
  14. CyberTruck is more than Stainless Steel...Tesla excels at Engineering in so many ways.

Wow, you sure walked back that one. Google is your friend, may want to use it next time before posting.
  15. UAW is coming after Rivian

These threads always bring up three main topics of misinformation: 1) Myth: If the c-suite salary spend was reduced, this would somehow provide workers with better wages. Fact: The head of GM made $29M last year. Even if he worked for free, that would bump all 167,000 employees' salaries by a...
  16. Rivian Safety Demonstrated Again (Serious R1S Crash)

What do you think the estimate will be to fix the Rivian, $250?
  17. One pedal driving inconsistencies

Since no one else is offering any solutions, let me take a stab at it: - If you are L2 charging at home, set your schdule to stop charging right after you normally leave. This will keep the battery warm until your departure. - Another idea is to set the nav to a charger near your destination...
  18. Upgraded the sub in R1S with aftermarket Alpine SWR-T10 Subwoofer

As an aside, I was very close to pulling the trigger on an upgraded sub setup like the OP but ended up redoing my eq settings after fat fingering my original settings. I used to have a pronounced V shape, but now it's more of a shallow bowl. Gotta be honest, the system thumps now! Has me second...
