both are true.... as someone who tried to be an honest Tesla fan engaged with the community on X for years, it got really old seeing both sides jsut say a bunch of stuff that wasn't true to make their voice heard. Part of why I quit using X was the Tesla/Elon fanboys are just too much. But man...
I also stopped when they started charging for it. The video call was an internal test from SpaceX IIRC, not someone using T-mobile's public service.
EDIT: Here's the video call article
Considering they've had direct to phone Starlink for a while, and they showed it being good enough for video calls early on, it could happen already. But needing a clear view of the sky isn't ideal where I live. Of course, cell service can suck in some places thanks to mountains too.
We got a 10,000 mile per year lease last summer on the Y because we usually take my Cybertruck if we go anywhere together. Our payments are $385/mo! Same build we got is now $614.
I’m so torn still. FSD is the ONLY thing holding me back. I could handle driving manually where I live. I have to anyway since FSD is almost never going the correct speed here. But when I go out of town especially long distance, FSD is a dream. I don’t have to know which lane to be in or where...
That image is the one most Elon haters love to post so it gets their attention to watch it. It’s actually not just about Elon but shows how he has changed over time.
All the issues I have with Elon are not "because he's a republican" .. "with different views". I like and even love plenty of people I disagree with politically.
The things I can't stand about Elon also don't make me hate Tesla as a brand or hate my Cybertruck, but I also understand completely...
The shareholder fans love this because everyone tiny bit they squeeze out is more profit and that matters more than having a good product as long as sales don’t drop significantly (they have dropped for the past couple years but that doesn’t matter because robots)
Every time I want to park my Cybertruck in a tight place I wish I had some USS because the 3D rendering view is DEFINITELY not anywhere near as accurate for distance. It will show me as touching something when I still have a foot of space.
Oh, there are plenty - think of pretty much everything from Nissan, Toyota, VW, Honda. None of them make me go “Wow” in a good way or bad way. I will say I think the new Prius is actually a nice looking car which is surprising since they’ve been historically so ugly.
I’m 5’9”. Unless there is a tool box or the truck is a low rider, no I cannot reach anything from the side of a pickup. I just climb up on the tailgate to get stuff out of the bed of any truck. Seems like a weird non issue to me.
Even a Maverick would be hard to reach things in the middle for...
Surprisingly my lifetime average over 15k miles (two winters) in my Cyberbeast is 400 Wh/mi (2.5 mi/kWh). I thought for sure it would be worse. I agree that R2 will probably surprise people considering its shape vs a Model Y
