They really need to open up their options to other EVs. My neighbor really wanted an R1S, but Rivian isn't part of their fleet program. He gets the vehicle 1/2 off (company pays the difference) and as much as he loved the Rivian, it's hard to pass on a Tesla at 1/2 the price.
Please report back the results!
That's what I was thinking. I'm going to try this. Also ditched the bag that was covered in mold and will use something else that's not fabric and try this mold prevention spray...
There's other vehicles with grab bars and airbags. For example on the Chevy Silverado the airbag is behind the grab bar and the entire trim piece is tethered to the frame so when it pops open it doesn't become a projectile.
Lucky you. I ordered in November. Called in June, told end of month. Called again in June, told July. Called in July, told August, called in August, told maybe September.
So for the first time ever, I opened the spare tire compartment and there was what I think is mold everywhere. It was on the fabric cover for the breaker bar and inside of the rim.
I thought this compartment was water right? Anybody else that's had the vehicle for over a year see this? I...
I'm not tracking how this relates to being a vulnerability or not PCI compliant.
Sure there may be a bug with the EVgo app but somebody calling this a vulnerability??
I only rotate it out when I buy all new tires, and place the spare in service, and set aside a new tire for the spare. That makes sure my spare never rots.
My local service center said they can do the 5-tire rotation no problem but advised against introducing a new tire to the mix with other...
Isn't there many different types of impact resistance plastics available they could have used? Hope with the heat that plastic doesn't become even more brittle.
You're certainly able to use it.
If he can't fit it in a standard box then for $8 you can get a box extension such as https://www.amazon.com/Hubbell-Bell-5407-0-Weatherproof-Extension-32-Inch/dp/B003A44Z3G or...
The vehicle isn't insured by the price you paid so you don't have to worry about losing out on early pricing. If you total loss, you'll get the market value for a replacement based on factors such as area, age, miles, etc.
Last year I got a quote from Nationwide but they were much more than Progressive.
Today I just tried to get another quote from Nationwide through Rivian and 10 minutes into the call they said they got back an error on the app and said they're not writing policies in Florida.
I dropped my vehicle off at the service center yesterday for the now 5th time regarding steering wheel vibration issues.
They told me that they are working on a heavier steering wheel but they have no word on when it would be available.
It's interesting that you've already gotten this heavier...
How would I go about mounting a magnet from Peak Design?
I see they one one that already has a ball on the back to mount to a 1" holder. I would need an extension that holds a ball on both ends?
Rivian totally butchered these last two updates. First they release an update that causes the vehicle to randomly stop charging and error out. Then they release another update that "fixes" it by throttling down the charge rate to 6kw. In over a year of ownership I've never had charging issues...
Apparently there's some type of fix on this upcoming update https://rivian.software/2023-26-00/
But as @SunDevil2213 pointed out, this isn't really a solution. Previously for over a year we've been able to charge fine at 48a uninterrupted. Now it will be throttled down due to heat.
So why...
Nevermind. Found a similar thread here. Couldn't find it originally because it's not in the Charging sub-forum.

Is anyone having issues charging at above 40a?
My R1T starts charging and then every 30 minutes it errors out and stops charging for 10 minutes, then starts back up again. Below is a screenshot, it's like clockwork.
It's not isolated to a single charger, and is only happening on one of my...
