As far as I’m aware they haven’t formally cut it. My conversation with their online chat support indicated that the normal glass roof is standard, but they declined to say if the electrochromic would be available as an option. The most the chat person would say is that “all available options...
So per my last comment, the standard panoramic roof is NOT the electrochromic one. It’s just the fixed glass roof.
I gently pressed J.R on whether the electrochromic roof would even be an option anymore, and he said that they hadn’t announced anything about that yet, and that all available...
So, I’ve noticed that everything seems to now come standard with the glass panoramic roof. So I’m wondering is that the electrochromic roof? Or is that gonna be an option?
So, here is my chat with support regarding the Launch Green colour. It is NOT mandatory if you choose the LE, but it is only selectable if you choose the LE.
I’ve been through an Infiniti FX50, a Supercharged Range Rover, and now my T8 XC60. And as much fun as the big ol’ V8s were, I have been absolutely in love with the plug-in aspect of the T8. Only having to go to a gas station once a month is just.....sheer bliss.
I have two other ICE vehicles...
Now maybe I’m just horribly misremembering this, but I seem to recall that waaaaaaaaay long ago, there was some talk about an AR configurator
That would be cool, if not wholly unnecessary
They very much are. There was an article out a month or so ago that said Rivian was benchmarking their interior to the likes of Bentley and Lamborghini. And they’ve said since the beginning that the goal is to create a luxury adventure vehicle.
Well, there’s now been two responses to messages about the 11/16 date, one of which said it was a just placeholder date, and the other of which said that when they know the date, they’ll email us.
I suppose they could turn around be like “Surprise! 11/16 really is the date!”, but I sorta doubt it
Well that more or less seals it then, eh? No configurator on the 16th. Kinda stupid of them to have put up a banner (however briefly) with an actual date on it when they KNOW just how hotly anticipated the configurator is
Yeah, I know what a placeholder date is, I just meant that the use of that phrase bodes ill for 11/16 being the actual date for the configurator release
I’m beginning to think that Rivian’s definition of “very soon” is very different than the general understanding of “very soon”
On one hand, they might just not be allowed to give specific dates until authorised to. On the other hand, I really don’t like the use of the phrase “placeholder date”
Heh. I think somebody at Rivian got a bit too eager. I’m guessing they meant to send out an email first, rather than a public announcement on the website
Actually, reading the password page, it says “This story is password protected. Please enter the story’s password to access it”
So I think there’ll just be one password to access it that all the pre-order holders will get.
Minor difference, but still
Oh Rivian. Can’t give us an actual date, but highly revealing Thanksgiving jokes are ok apparently
It’s an interesting public relations strategy, but by Jove, it works
I suspect the huge brakes are as much for looks and style-points as they are for heavy duty breaking. My Range Rover also had enormous brakes, and it certainly wasn’t towing anything.
