Love the truck, just can't stand the air suspension feel, noise and drivetrain slop (Gen 1) even after multiple half-shafts, hubs and new motor... so trading for R2 as soon as my number is called. I'll be back for Gen 3 or 4.
I sympathize. Mine does the exact same thing and I have a brand new motor and half shafts only 3 weeks old. The noises they say are “normal on Gen 1”. Another owner near me had similar sounds and they found one of his shocks leaking and updated his to the newest version. He says it’s super...
Same issue except its my front end. They say normal. Once shocks start leaking they will replace them, according to another R1T owner who had this done. I made same complaint and they said its normal.
I wonder if you can tow charge this thing. Like if I'm out on a trail with friends and I run out of juice, it would be nice if I could be towed for a bit to recoup some energy.
Honestly, as long as an update doesn't mess up my settings, I've set the vents into position and never touched them again. So I believe the thinking is that most people are the same. I can see how its not as convenient if there are different drivers of the vehicle.
So you didn't feel anything was amiss with the brakes before taking it in to them? I would have told them don't touch a thing before spending that kind of scratch.
So a friend of mine just mentioned that there is going to be a huge RAM and memory shortage in the near future. Since Lidar needs a massive amount of memory and storage, could this maybe be why Rivian is delaying adding the lidar component until they see how everything shakes out? I imagine...
The utility of an R1T is hard to beat, but if R2 suspension and build quality is better, I'll be trading in as soon as my number for R2 is called. I can rent a truck from HoDo or Lowe's for $19 if I need one for anything needing a truck bed.
Mine (2022 Quad) has done this since about 10k miles...now at 32k...most often when starting off on an incline or decline...was always told it was normal. The loaner R1S I've been driving has 20k miles and has a similar feel on inclines/declines. My truck started getting a grinding noise in...
