YMMV but I reached out to service last week about that possibility and was told that those wheels are incompatible with Gen 1. No reason given and makes no sense to me. I hope that was just an early misunderstanding.

Gen 1 was seemingly over built. Very curious about Gen 2 crash tests and if it’s different at all.

RJ stated multiple times that Gen 2 is more rigid interestingly.

Ours gets judgey sometimes and turns cyclists into cars, or one time a semi truck!

I forget which (maybe OOS), but in one of the videos on Gen 2 there was mention that the new 22’s were lighter. But yeah, all speculation at this point. Will be curious what you can learn tomorrow and to see efficiency tests once there are more deliveries.

For comparison sake with the Mach-e: 2022 Premium AWD - 277 mi 2022 CA RT1 AWD (only wheels/tires different) - 312 mi An increase of 35 miles (12.6%) just from that.

Curious about this and been thinking the same. Wheels/tires were the only difference in the Mach-e California Route 1 model to get its range up.

Also stays on in camp mode.

Not quite what I was expecting but not nothing - “Honor24” for $5 off a heat shield. Edit: to clarify that’s $5 per window, so essentially 10% off which isn’t bad and cancels out shipping in my case.

I used the master lock to lock the spare tire holder to the swing arm. The Kuat has a lock that is long enough and comes with it, so used that to lock the swing arm to the hitch.

It is wild to me how often I see R1S drivers around town with bare crossbars sitting on top not being used. >50% I’d say.

I switched last July, so not a particularly early build R1S. Drives better IMO and prefer the shorter wheelbase and increased maneuverability. The one thing I miss is the gear tunnel - that was awesome to have! edit to add: the driving characteristics changed considerably over the updates last...
