I wonder if 23 lightning invitations are going out before updated windows for Rivian reservation holders. There are still a lot of multiple reservation holders out there that will have to chose between a Ford in driveway and a Rivian in distant future. By now no one expect an accurate estimate...
I disagree. I wouldn't be surprised if someone brought this up in a meeting and was shot down because "everything was designed around the gear tunnel". The fact is, tools evolve and someone has to bleed to make that evolution happen. Cost of taking the first step.
Edit: I am not saying dude...
Do you know if you are suppose to put it on tow mode before loading and take it off after unloading? After loading and before unloading? or it does not make any difference?
‘That makes sense. OK, you converted me to a new crowd.
I had a Ford Fairmont I bought for $300. Among many charming flaws (Transmission and engine problems), the hood opened once when I was driving. Traffic was in a way, I could not slam on the break. Driving like this is not as much fun as...
Point well taken but I am still a part of that crowd. It should allow driving at 10, 15 mph (or whatever latch or weight of the hood can handle). Turning the truck into an expensive brick in a bad spot may not be that safe either.

Thanks for taking the time to explain. If I understand it correctly, what you are saying is that when he is plugged in, the power lost comes directly from the house and bypasses the battery (going through an inverter?) so the electrons are traveling a shorter path and there is less heat loss...
I have no idea why it would take more energy to bring it back up rather than keeping it there. I thought it is harder to pack the electrons at a higher SOC but I have never owned an EV and not an electrical Engineer so I take your word for it.
My point was not at all, this way of measuring...
Thanks for explaining it to me. It is a smart way of measuring it. I wonder if the truck gets more hungry when it is at the all you can eat buffet (plugged in). In other words if you have it unplugged with the same settings, will it take the same amount of power to bring it back up to 70%...
I am not sure if I understand this correctly. Do you have your R1T plugged in while doing these tests? And did your gear guard record anything for this test? I assume it consume more energy when recording.
I recently saw a footage of a sea of repossessed cars that a bank holds on to so that they don’t disturb that supply demand balance. They seem to be hoarding cars and trickle them out to the auction at small volume to maximize revenue. I am not sure how much of current over all supply/demand...
Nice people and bad service is a rough combo. Makes leaving honest reviews very difficult.
I am curious how much of this is the software and how much (or how many cases) just mechanical. Has anyone whose issue was resolved was told it was a motor in a specific driving mode that didn’t have...

I am sure someone is calling R.J. A punk in a meeting for selling R1Ts at a loss and firing people while folks are making a bundle on these trucks. Either, Rivian will have to put a stop to this with something like the GM move or those of us still waiting somehow will pay the difference...
Very helpful tips. Thank you. I am curious if you noticed anything else acting up, when you lost cellular connectivity. If I understand correctly, AT@T service is a part of free service Rivian is providing for the first year. It looks like Rivian is not prepared for anyone electing not to...
