  1. Can an ICE vehicle be jump started by a Rivian?

OP as well as any of us would want one of those in R1 anyway. 12V battery dying in R1 is much worse than it is in an ICE. Anyone knows which one is sufficient for R1? I assume, it does not need as much juice to bring back the electronics to life. So 1000 amp is enough?
  2. Rivian Rockville, MD Location is Now Open!

Congrats and thanks for the report. Now it is time to enjoy it.
  3. Is there a way to shut up the bird?

When all else fails, you can always put a duct tape on the speaker ;) but you may have to carry a blow horn if it is the same one used for horn but if it is the same as pedestrian warning (Darth Vader), you get two birds with one duct tape.
  4. Latest VIN check R1T. What is the real production rate...

I hear ”it is in Normal” is a standard answer before delivery and “It is normal” is the standard answer after ;) congrats
  5. Installing my Rivian spare tire (and kit) - experience writeup

Thanks for sharing. With suspension this hi, plugging it with the tire in should be doable. I have done it on sedans much lower and my truck several times but I have never owned a vehicle with tire pressure this high. Anything different about the process if I wanted to do it on R1 anyone?
  6. Does anyone know what camping trailer this Rivian R1T is pulling? [Updated: Airstream Basecamp]

I wonder how much of an extra range hit you get on road with that off road tire on the Ember RV Edit: This one is off road er with battery: I went for R1S partly for the same reason. I still don't know what it would be like to sleep in it but I could bring a tent as a back up plan. A...
  7. Towing a Teardrop Trailer

Sorry I don’t have much to contribute. But I do have an ask. Please share your experience after your trip. very interested in power consumption at highway speed with your trailer. I will be shopping for one after I get mine and finding the right balance of comfort and range would be...
  8. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

One piece of info I have not seen any owner share is that if their drain remain the same at low SOCs (20, 10, 5)%. I know it is rare that anyone on purpose let it go that low and sit but if somehow it does happen, whether your norm loss is 4 KWh /day or 1 KWh/day, knowing if it is constant or...
  9. RJ posts video of R1 body top hat marriage!

All true but I am not sure how to read it: 1 - Rivian did a very difficult thing many other fail at so there is a good chance they will be around for a while. or 2 - Car making is so difficult there is a good chance Rivian won’t be around to support a few years down the road. No argument...
  10. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

If I am not mistaking, 9 miles is around 4 KWh/day which is a deal breaker for me. My understanding is that your AC plug was not on for this one. Man, I thought they were moving forward with this. I definitely don’t want to be in a position that the thing is leaking electrons in my driveway...
  11. 7 Day Road Trip in an R1T (July 24 Departure)

OP, I love to read about your trip. I hope someday to put your experience in good use in east coast. Station wagons like this make so much sense as EVs. Only if we were a little less obsessed with looking cool and more with actually being cool.
  12. R1S big enough to sleep in - Business Insider says YES!

I agree with you that is a matter of perspective. Almost everything is. I however don’t agree with you that cost was the reason for not making it flexible. Sandy’s tear down made it clear that Rivian didn’t mind going the expensive rout to make R1 their flagship. They most likely did a...
  13. R1S big enough to sleep in - Business Insider says YES!

Inside the armrest is empty. You may even be able to store those lemons in it. I don’t remember where I saw it but I will look for it and edit this post when I find it. Edit: from Marty J video:
  14. R1S big enough to sleep in - Business Insider says YES!

As is, you really have to love the other spooner. If that third row armrest was not there, you could make it work with someone you like. That armrest really should have been removable or a fold-able surface. Rivian dropped the ball on that one after cancelling the five seater. I think they...
  15. Problems with Electrify America Today?

Did you do a reset? Do you have the latest software? I am just trying to see if it is a Rivian thing.
  16. Spare tire size

I have a question along the same lines. If you have had a lot of your thread gone on all 4 tires after a few years and have a blow out and replace one with your unused spare of the same type and size, will your R1 pull and will need reprogramming because now the wheels are out of sync due to...
  17. Look what they need to mimic

The add was a bit out there. I would have this agains R1T racing to the kids soccer field and grocery store with a background elevator music when they are stuck in a backup may be showing how many of those horses they actually get to use.
  18. Reversing with a trailer causes automatic park

I wish a member here had the patience to catalog all the sensors and corresponding behaviors associated with them. I do appreciate that Rivian team is trying to protect us and the vehicle with the information these sensors provide but they are long way from knowing and controlling all...
  19. Reversing with a trailer causes automatic park

It seems like the fix is having more ice-cream.
