Those chargers are clipper creek chargers with Rivian stickers on them. Good choice. I’d buy that for my garage as long as that sticker didn’t cost me more.
Power flex seems to title each image by the company where they installed, I’m guessing these are at one of Rivian”s own offices. I also doubt this is part of RAN since power flex installed them and they are level 2.
We need chargers at every boat ramp, even if they’re just level 2. It would be great to charge while I’m on the water after chewing through battery towing the boat to the ramp.
I chatted with Bryan in the support area of the website about it. He asked for my phone number for a call back. I think they're taking it seriously. If I actually get someone calling me back I'll mention it. I I think all we need is RJ selling one vehicle with steel wheels and a short range...
I searched google and found someone saying that California won't give a rebate on EVs over $60k. I then looked at this list of eligible vehicles. Obviously Rivian isn't on there yet, but neither is a Model S/X or Porsche Taycan (each with starting prices over $60k). I DON'T think we're getting...
Is anyone concerned about the custom tire size? What happens if when you need a replacement? You have to go to the Rivian service center? Will they price gouge? I've blown two tires simultaneously in the middle of nowhere before. I guess with the Rivian and 21" wheels I'd be screwed.
Does anyone think the 180kWh pack is coming later because it’ll have that switch to get the voltage up to 800V for charging? That might convince me to pay more vs the 135kWh. Longer range AND faster charge rate.
I'm super bummed my 180kWh R1T will take until 2022 to get here. But how about this plan:
Step 1) Get second reservation today
Step 2) Nov 16: Use first reservation to order LE R1T
Step 3) Order 180kWh R1T on second reservation
Step 4) June 2021: take delivery of LE R1T
Step 5) Immediately sell...
I think Rivian was holding out to show prices for different trim levels until the Hummer was announced. GM’s pricing can allow Rivian to keep prices high. I think the Hummer is a closer competitor to the R1T than the Cybertruck or eventual electric F150.
I made myself to be easily swayed by the...
This is bad news. The Cybertruck put pressure on Rivian to lower their price, but at over $100k and only 350 mile range, Rivian can easily argue to keep prices high. That and the $70k version won’t be delivered for almost 4 years.
Is it even legal in the US to drag a car with simple straps like they do in the show? I’ve only ever seen a vehicle being towed with a proper hitch setup and electric brakes.
Rivian ran the risk of flipping that trailer. I didn’t any sway control on their hitch. I wouldn’t have run it the way they did. A bit dangerous if some wind picked up or a big rig passes close going the opposite direction.
A) My f-150 loses more than 50% range towing a similarly shaped, lower weight trailer
B) Did they tow the R1T to the desert inside the trailer being pulled by a RAM? If so, that's lame. Should've towed that white trailer all the way there. At least do a better job of hiding it in the video
C)...
I finally see a hitch. Does anyone see a 7-pin connector?
Also notice only a five lug bolt pattern on the wheels. It must be more similar in weight to a Tacoma than an F-150.
I just put down my deposit on Sept. 18th and I want to go to one of these private events. Does anyone know when the San Francisco event is? Have they announced it and I signed up too late? If so, any tips to get on the list?
