Nice recap. I've been thinking about the Prinsu Pro for a while. Have two sets of crossbars sitting around, never used. I originally wanted to permanently attach a RTT to them (3x) and set up a ceiling pulley. I like the roof rack more but would have to forgo being able to install/remove the RTT...
Dropped off my car for my fourth service appointment last Tuesday, got it back Thursday afternoon. The appointment was made soon after I got my car back last time.
The fix they implemented for the torsion bar didn't work so I reached back out. While waiting for the appointment, I ended up...
Oh great reasons. Note that it was the recent update that had made it so flaky. Prior to this I never got the drive errors that seem to be cropping up weekly now.
Oh geez, didn’t realize that was the end that you had. I had a blocky coaxial which I thought was hard enough, but a 90 degree USB-C must be way larger.
When I was running mine, I kept thinking about unseating that tube so I could run it more straight, have you looked into that. Might also...
Latest service visit, I was offered a BMW i4 or the Silverado EV at the Enterprise Exotics near SNA. Since I literally had a Power Wheel ride-on in the S when I dropped it off (just picked it up that morning), I went with the Silverado. Had just over 3000 miles and while it felt large at first...
I see you are in SoCal too, which SC? I've have a few SC visits to Costa Mesa for minor issues, they've always treated me extremely well and never let my car sat. Hoping for the same positive experience for you.
I previously had terrible 24/7 noise from the front end that turned out to be front hub issues. It was addressed by the SC where they replaced both front hubs.
Recently brought my car in for service (scheduled originally for the tailgate torsion bar issue again before I figured out how to fix...
Damn wish I saw this thread before dropping off the car this morning at the SC.
I typically have both car seats strapped in and won’t hear any rattles, but took out the driver side car seat this morning before heading to the service center and immediately noticed an annoying rattle. Likely the...
I'm surprised no one has gone all in on Gary's headband / sock stripes. I could see that as an understated emblem or use those stripes as "racing" stripes. Or... just literally put a headband on your R1 :p
Sadness! I get it, they gotta enforce. Got two of your prints but was holding out for the super Gary to apply and differentiate from their Ascent trim.
Think I’ll just apply next to the R1S emblem on the left to make it look less like the real Ascent trims.
I feel like most cars look similar to your last issue. Middle of the fender panel needs to come out a bit to give clearance to the door when opening. In fact mine was so tight, my PPF guy had to cut some of the film off to clear it.
As others have said, file all of it and be reasonable when the...
Some dashcams allow operation while parked and vehicle is off. The two wires are attached to battery and accessory power fuses to enable recording while car is off. Since I didn’t need this functionality, I tied both wires to the same fuse.
Phone mount, went with this option because it raises...
Update:
For some reason, the buck charging module failed. I think others using similar for radar detectors and other dashcams have been fine. The Viofo A139Pro is super power hungry and may have contributed to the buck module's failure.
So after sitting on the rewiring for a few months, finally...
Did not check output
Not always on, comes on when the car comes on, will power down when car goes to sleep
Front camera/sensors are fine, I turned off mirror dimming due to my tinted windows
Was well aware of this when I picked up my vehicle a year ago. Surprised if newer owners expected to have free hotspot, music streaming for life.
Won't opt in right off the bat, but when Gear Guard Live Cam is available, I'll probably subscribe. Though the Gen1 cameras really do suck.
