I watched as my wife this afternoon GENTLY opened the tailgate (she knew I was watching and judging her). And both of us heard the torsion rod pop off the hook. She couldn't have been more careful.
Anyway, after fiddling with it and getting it back on again, took @supervlover 's advice and...
There are a few sections where you'll have to back up or stay put to let others go by. In the video below, I got pretty high up on the side to let a few vehicles by going uphill. Gladiator driver gave some props to the Rivian:
I rarely have luck finding them in SoCal except the one time I found 5 blue R1Ts at a Dollar Tree in Fullerton.
Anyway, I usually pop into local Dollar Trees when I'm traveling for work. Landed at MCI this evening, popped into the local Dollar Tree and walked out with all their R1Ts. Friends...
Helpful thread! Got my R1S last August and only now (10 months later) did I finally pull out the camp speaker for the first time to use and I couldn't get it to hold a charge. Charged it via a power brick once and saw it die pretty quickly. Trying to charge via another power brick right now...
About half a day, but we hung out at the top for a little while. And getting there and back can take a little while depending on where you are coming from. Single lane, tight roads getting there.
Took my car back in to my PPF guy to get the panel rewrapped, he was impressed with the PDR work given that he had another Rivian in recently to get rewrapped for another post-PDR repair (by a Rivian-certified PDR guy, whatever that means), and that still had a noticeable dent in the bodywork...
Just found this thread. Mine originally popped out a few months ago. Some folks told me to stick with the service visit as they apparently had a replacement part that would prevent this from happening again. After I got it back from service, that wasn't the case.
Anyway, it just happened to me...
Was an idiot and backed up into a concrete lamppost base while parking. Was distracted with the kids, but zero excuse for poor parking. Anyway, I saw the following thread and figured it was worth giving PDR a shot even though my dent looked worse than @DTown3011 's. PPF fortunately did its job...
Agreed on Santiago. Go slow. Bring your spare wheel just in case. It was my first time going up and didn't have any real issues. Lots of activity on the trail.
Not to make excuses for Rivian, but I got my R1S almost a year ago. I assume they've improved since then. There have been instances where there have been worse deliveries, and plenty of instances of problem-free deliveries. For what it's worth, I've had ZERO drivability problems and customer...
I'm not sure what qualifies as a Premium Rental. But the one time they had an R1S at Enterprise it was extra if we wanted to rent that one. So I "settled" for a brand new Model X.
@KRG I know a lot of folks have had negative experiences w/ Costa Mesa. But I've had nothing but good experiences...
It'd be amazing if the Konami code brought up a Spy Hunter or Konami-equivalent, Road Fighter? Have it play on the screen with the steering wheel buttons (or like Tesla, allow a BT remote to be connected).
Has anyone found any always-on standard fuses either on the driver or passenger side? Dashcam has a parking mode, I know earlier trucks had problems with the 12V system completely draining but there's a safety shutoff in the hardwire kit, so thinking about moving forward with it.
Thank you, that looks like the RH 2nd/3rd row USB and the wireless charging pad. Hopefully, the circuit won't starve the dashcam if someone plugs in to charge their phone? But I do understand why they stayed away from the 12V fuses given how proprietary they are.
I have a very power hungry dashcam that has failed a few times via my mirror tap but works absolutely fine when I plug the manufacturer provided USB-C cable in with a good sized power brick away from the vehicle. It even fails with a MacBook USB-C cable w/ power brick.
I ordered the hardwire...
Wrapped my third service appointment on Friday. This was a quick one. My wife dropped the car off Wednesday afternoon, we were told Friday morning the car was ready. Got another great rental from Enterprise Exotics by SNA. This time it was an MB EQE. Kiddos got to experience a sedan for once...
