For Tesla, Rivian and others, so far all is good.
Iām not saying I love it but I bet the minute someoneās Tesla or Rivian gets compromised, everyone will scream about how relaxed their security is.

MFA adds a second layer (something you have, like a phone or token), drastically increasing security. A 4-digit PIN is not as secure and can be guessed.
Maybe not a priority but something they felt could be implemented at this time. That doesnāt mean all other issues were put on the back burner. It could just mean other issues are more complicated and havenāt been remediated yet. Rivian can focus on more than one thing at a time and why not...
The concept of Multi-factor Drive is a good one. Millions of phones are stolen each year and given itās the key to your car this feature should provide added protection. How Rivian implements this may be the deciding factor for me.
The experience between owners is so different. Could this be due to different software packages pushed depending on region, hardware, or feature set, connectivity issues that cause failed OTA installs that leave the system in an unstable state, component manufacturers (e.g., memory, sensors)...
I read it as eliminating the tax credit and tacking on a fee of 250/year for fully electric vehicles and $100/year for hybrids, if the new bill is adopted. Not sure if the new bill applies to existing EV owners as well.
