Yes, iPhone and Apple Watch.

I stopped using it but when I was I used my watch to start the vehicle and don’t recall requiring my phone be unlocked first. Maybe there’s a setting?

I haven’t had any issues since Dec ‘23 when I purchased my R1S until yesterday when my seat didn’t return to position and I was prompted to preform a calibration. I did so just now and it seems to be back to normal.

I charge to 100% whenever I’m going on a long drive, maybe once a month.

I’m not promoting Carplay at all but saw the write up and thought I’d share it for others who have interest. It appears to me that feedback might sway Rivian’s position.

I no longer have MFD enabled but while I did, I did not experience this. It worked pretty well for me and since I have an Apple watch the push notification appeared on my watch where it allowed me to approve to drive. You should touch base with Rivian.

Perhaps you’re referring to fans that run automatically to protect displays when the interior gets too hot. This seems to occur more consistently, maybe a fix was applied.

I was just prompted for the drive+data update. It’s downloading now. What does this contain again, maps and what else? also, I wonder why it wanted me to connect to Wi-Fi when I have connect plus.

Teslas only allow a 4 digit. 8 is better but still not as secure.

Rivian needs to offer a backup. Businesses that use MFA offer a way to call a support desk. Or, maybe Rivian can allow you to opt-out one device/card/keyfob etc. so that you have a backup? I won’t go into why a 4 digit PIN is not secure, I think we all agree on that. We just want an option...

I notice also this popup no longer appears when you close the mobile app.

Of course it won’t work without the phone. We don’t have watch key support from Rivian, but WaaK/WatchMyRivian are third-party watch solutions that can be configured as keys, without your phone. I always have my phone anyway so if I wanted to use this feature I now know I don’t need to pull out.

I received and responded to the push notification on my watch and it works. I didn’t need to use my phone. I probably didn’t pay attention the first time because I was so focused on my phone.
