I thought a notification is sent warning you a door, hood or tailgate is left open. If not, Rivian should implement this. You could configure the lock/unlock button on your iPhone Home Screen. Hard press it to lock/unlock.

You shouldn’t have to set anything. It should automatically default to cool if the outside temps are hot and vice versa.

Your logic for not buying a Rivian makes no sense. It’s not a must to tint the sunroof. A few autos come with full glass roofs these days. And, preconditioning a vehicle prior to driving it is not a $100k car issue.
