I somehow managed to order two of these, but only have one R1, so am selling one. $60, in Baltimore.
This is the EV Sportline MagSafe dash mount: https://evsportline.com/products/rivian-r1t-r1s-dashboard-magsafe-phone-mount
This is everything they ship it with: the charger puck, the mounting...
Fair enough, I was just looking at the EV rated tires and noticed those.
However, it looks like the Toyo Open Country A/T III EV comes in a 34.1” diameter (275/65R20) for both SL and LT. If increasing the diameter really does improve efficiency, it seems like this would be an excellent choice...
You shouldn’t be getting TuneIn ad breaks in the middle of listening, only when you first start the stream. Maybe there’s something happening that’s causing your stream to reset, so it restarts and you get another ad?
Otherwise, the volume and general janky-ness of the app is just a TuneIn...
You can remove charging stops from the route, but if the one you want doesn’t show up on the map your best bet is probably to end navigation, and just enter the address of the one you want, then go back to navigating to your destination when you’re done charging.
Bluetooth is pretty low power, I’d be shocked if it is actually the Bluetooth radio that accounts for a significant amount of the drain. That said, I could totally see it being a bad system design where it’s say impossible to turn on the Bluetooth radio and other necessary systems without also...
Interesting. It does look like it’s using a fairly standard lead-acid charge cycle, even with an abbreviated float stage. Then there’s just that voltage drop to about 12.2V right before it wakes up and begins the cycle again.
How limited time is this discount code? I’m interested, but was putting off the decision until I’m back in New Mexico and would be able to pick it up in December…
Lithium batteries do best in long term storage when at a 50% SoC. I would plug it in and set the limit there for long storage For minimal battery wear.
I have the Rivian manual cover, and the locking pins both snapped literally the first time I used it. It’s still functional, but I have to use pliers to manually pull the pins back to remove it. Rivian’s solution is to install a PTC, but it hasn’t come in yet…
I don’t use it often enough to...
I think this is the problem with literally every thread about tires… Which version? And which truck are you putting them on to measure efficiency/range?
I would really love to see a side by side comparison of the Open Country IIIs and the new OEM Wranglers. I have the OEM 21s now, and am planning on switching to a 20“ 3PMSF, and it seems like those two are the top contenders (for my needs, anyway).
With Ford being an early major investor, I was assuming they would eventually acquire them, and (while they’re not my favorite of the big automakers) I was disappointed when they pulled back. VW is an interesting prospect, as I could definitely see Rivian becoming a VW Group brand, while...
Fair enough, I misinterpreted you! Sounds like we’re in agreement, though I think Rivian cant afford to not be more conservative on safety right now. I also suspect we’re not far off from lawsuits and more regulation around these systems, making it even more important for a young automaker in a...
You just answered
I’m not sure how this is anything other than you agreeing with my point. Both that BMW has vastly more resources and experience, and that Rivian is taking a more conservative approach to safety, even when using the same underlying technology.
Those other companies have not only significantly more experience and probably orders of magnitude more testing on their systems, but much deeper reserves in terms of both cash and reputation to spend if things go wrong. I would also imagine that a higher percentage of Rivian drivers pull...
