I suspect the soft reset is vastly less risky than applying that update in the first place, but I agree it is probably not zero risk, so definitely your call on what you are comfortable with ;-).

What does the "truck cycles power" mean? Sorry for so many questions, just trying to understand the behavior because I want to avoid the screen connecting to my phone everytime I walk by the truck with my phone (and unintentionally transferring my calls for instance).

Is this a "sleep" or "power off" switch? I.e., if turned off, will it wake back up only after you power it on again with the switch, or will it automatically power on when the car wakes up (either due to key proximity or from someone operning the door)?

Seems like one could easily be added to the wiring between the fuse box and the carplay display, although I'm not sure how to do that so the install maintains a clean finish. Agree that it would be nice to have one integrated onto the display itself.
