My average on 20" ATs for the first 4500 miles from July to November was 2.62 mi/kWh. Avg speed 33mph. This inlcuded 4 long road trips and some short off-roading, but many many commutes to work in traffic (which helps efficiency). Once the cold came in December it dropped off, my avg is now 2.56...
Have you tested these tires in the snow yet? I am very close to pulling the trigger on the Defender LTX M/S2, and keeping the All Terrains just for Summer time adventures. The previous gen M/S has awesome reviews and actually performs great in the snow despite not being 3PMSF. If the M/S2 are...
Hard for me to tell the exact sound in the video, but it may be the same sound I am experiencing accelerating/decelerating between ~20-40 mph. I drove with a service tech and he heard it too and added my car to a master ticket they have open. In my case, it would be some kind of...
I thought it was better to switch to conserve once you are already at highway speed, rather than starting in conserve mode from a stop and accelerating up to highway speed (more tire wear during acceleration).
i doubt you'd get any rubbing, 285/60 is a smaller tire diameter than the stock ATs. 33.5" vs 34.1" diameter. The tire would stick out 5mm further which is nominal.
@jjswan33 makes a good point. I think I was too focused on weight instead of diameter and rolling resistance. The Celsius Cargo is the same size as OEM and much less aggressive tread, at only 6 lbs more, so it would probably be more efficient.
Also the defender LTX M/S comes in a 285/60r20, at...
I have been looking for the same thing without much results. most available weigh significantly more than the 48 lb Pirellis. I want an efficient on-road 3PMSF tire I can drive in the winter and road trips in the spring that would increase range, and then switch to the all terrains in June for...
@EV Sportline how come the wheels are only rated for 2475 lbs load? That's equivalent to about a 112 load rating Tire. Shouldn't the wheels meet or exceed the load rating of the tire?
