  1. FS: 20 AT Spare

Still for sale? mentioned to my friend down in seattle and he says he might be interested.
  2. How noisy is your front end?

I don't get clunks but my suspension definitely creaks a bit as it travels recently. Only like 1300 miles on the truck, so it's not a wear and tear thing.
  3. Quad motor vs locking diff

This thread is... kind of a shit show, should it be locked? It's hard for me to imagine anyone's getting anything new out of it after 18 pages.
  4. Quad motor vs locking diff

I won't opine too much, and maybe it's been said, but here's a counterpoint to the locking-diff superiority convo. I do think a locking diff provides some baseline benefits, but in 5 years we won't miss it in the EV world.
  5. Amy Mast (Rivian communications director) has left for Ford

I've got a good little bit of experience in the startup and tech space, and this isn't really weird through that lens. You need different skillsets for different phases of growth, and existing folks don't always grow into those redefined roles, or even want them. It would be interesting to see...
  6. XPEL PPF Paint Protection Film Tint Ceramic Coating Vinyl Wrap - by Seattle ClearBra

I'd love to see a fores green with a matte wrap in person before pulling the trigger on something - not sure how feasible it is but HMU if there's going to be an opportunity to check one out in the future. Edit: PS thanks for putting pricing up front and clear, makes things easier.
  7. Upcoming Competition: 2024 Tacoma Pickup Design Leaked ?

As others have said, people keep buying em. But toyota is 100% okay with that. Zero investment required in R&D, no new anything, and that thing has to just be a money PRINTER for them. They didn't even go through an ugly phase - the vehicle's just been good looking forever. Whoever did the...
  8. PNW Rivian Meetup?

Oh no! I just googled the term and signed up for their mailing list :( There'll be more as spring comes around, I'm sure.
  9. PNW Rivian Meetup?

Update: It was great to see a lot of folks there. Weirdly large turnout, had to have been close to 30 R1s. I didn't end up having any of the gyros but they smelled fantastic. All in all, a fun splashy little ride.
  10. PNW Rivian Meetup?

    My god!
  11. Rivian Membership..... It's January 16 so.......

I don't mind paying out of pocket for things that themselves have ongoing costs: cloud services cost money to run and maintain, mobile apps cost money to develop and run, LTE connections obviously cost something. But if you're going to gate dumb shit like lights behind artificial paywalls that's...
  12. Did You Spot A Forum Member?

I see one (R1S) every time I'm in Greenwood. Couple of R1Ts in Eastlake, and I feel like I consistently see a T every time I'm unfortunate enough to be going through the Mercer/SLU cluster. Definitely getting more common if you're in Seattle.
  13. For those who got R1S (or R1T) at original approximately $78k would you buy one for new price of approximately $93k?

No, 70+ is already too much for a toy, no matter how fun. I want to retire at some point, and buying lots of expensive toys isn't conducive to that goal :|
  14. Routing onto a closed highway

What media was I not paying enough attention to to miss that notification? ? Some folks just aren't in the area that often. Just so.
  15. Routing onto a closed highway

Rivian nav is actually trash, routed me across a closed highway (with a [-] symbol on it even??) earlier today, costing me 20 precious minutes of my Very Important Life as I had to turn around and drive through the shitscape that is bellevue, wa to get back home. It sucks at traffic guessing...
  16. STOP! Wait, I have the MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION EVER!!! (Poll added)

I ride a triumph bonneville and feel like everyone waves at me - weird how cliquey the motorcycle world can be tho. Or maybe it's to be expected.
  17. Bellevue WA Service Center Performance?

Depends on the windshield, seating, any tech integrations. Basic windshield can be done in an hour, more complex seatings take longer. If you have certain types of integrated defrosters, cameras, even wipers or fluid sprayers, it can take longer I think. Days seems... too much, though. Idk.
  18. Use of the empty space allocated to non existing tonneau cover?

It actually seems ridiculous that they didn't retrofit something there after removing the powered cover, even just a drop-in plastic replacement piece that gives a little more bed space. Maybe it speaks to their commitment to a net-new tonneau cover built in house and delivered in a timely...
  19. Oregon (PENDING, Post Delivery) FOR SALE: Customizable R1T Order - Jan/Feb 2023 Delivery

Do you know what the delivery date for an R1S would look like? Sounds like ~2H23, probably pretty late in 2H?
